i think dark blue is a medium between a bright and dark colour, a nice colour imo. maybe wear a white sweater, or white shoes since white (i think?) represents innocence and in this case, innocence was taken away.

I don't know the answer to your question. But I do know I am going to go home and hug my toddler until she squeals "STOP MAMA" and runs away.

Oh my god... I'm so sorry. What a heartwrenching experience. I'm actually getting teary just reading this... how absolutely tragic.

I think my heart would tell me to wear happy colors, for the same reasons you give, but other people might not understand that, and mistake the intention behind it. Having just done the funeral thing a couple months ago, I can vouch for most people still feeling that black or subdued colors are the most appropriate. I think your idea to wear dark blue, accented well, is a good one.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful... but I did want to express my condolences. :(

how tragic :-( I'm tearing up too. *hugs*

I'd also recommend blue, it's respectful - yet more colorful than black. You could also accessorize a darker outfit with a brighter scarf as well.

I know. I made my friend take me to work to see my babies, and I wanted to never let go of them. the school had photos up of the child everywhere, and there was such an aura of sadness. even the babies knew something was wrong. There's supposed to be a slideshow later today of the child's photos from school life and videos taken of him at school, shown at both centers at the same time, then a flower drop all at once. I don't think I can go that. Everyone should at least make today a "national hug you kid until they squeal day", if you don't do it already!
