Legoland - 23rd August
With it already costing more than chessington for a day, I decided to try and pick out the best bits of the park, and stay in them.
I dont know the name of the rides really (wasn't interested in the names as such), but I have to say that the jungle coaster is good, its a fun little thing, and made me laugh quite a bit, I liked it so much that I went on it twice.
The log flume ride was also pretty good, with the excellent jokes as you go around and I got more wet than on loggers leap, which was fantastic. The dragon coaster is absolutely excellent, the theming round the castle is absolutely superb, they have obviously spent time on this ride, then when you're outside you're almost all over the place. Its a great little ride.
The other rides were pretty tame (well duh), but I have the following to say about legoland:
Its clean, lovely and clean.. makes the day soo much better. All down to not attractiving chavs, it was perfect.
The staff were absolutely great. Every single one was saying 'I hope you have a wonderful day here', which made everything feel friendly and they're going out of their way to impress. Also the guy called Pete in the pasta place was cool, helped us with some stuff, and was extremely cheerful.
The models there are excellent. I was amazed at the accuracy of everything, and loved how stuff moved and made noises and stuff. Really well coordinated (one of the best parts of the day).
The food was perfect, the pizzas tasted great and the lasange was perfect.
No breakdowns, that I saw anyway, its really nice to be able to go around and not witness any breakdowns.
All the park needs is:
Music, in the queueline, and announcements. It's too quiet and loses atmosphere without music and announcements (thats why I love thorpe soo much).
Queueing, the park is obviously not intended to be as busy as it was, even with the extention queuelines open, the queues were spilling out of the extrance, and with hardly any stuff saying how long you had to wait, it was frustrating for some people.
Also they need some more high throughput rides, or some more rides to soak up the guests.
Thats about it, I absolutely loved my day out and its revived my love in lego. Thanks for giving me an excellent day out legoland! (congrats to anyone who was working today) :D
Pictures will follow later this evening, watch out for the edit..
