(no subject)
Oooooh, i did something today, which obviously means it deserves an entry :D.
I decided to see how many times i can catch the service to Charing X/Hastings train.... joking, although anyone watching could have thought that (and the conductor thought that as well, more about him later)..
So, it was midday in good old south east england, with the sun out and it being extremely hot. So, what to do... Holly had just gone offline to go somewhere... ooh i know! I'll go to Davids house! (owned heathfield internet, pretty cool people). So, caught the train there, got a return and stuff. Went to his house and played Age of empires 2, conquerers edition against his dad and him, then we decided to go meet Ana again. Phoned her, everything alright, so went and caught train to london (2nd train of the day). Met the conductor who gave me a new return ticket to charing cross from stonegate (we see a lot more of him later :P).
So, got to charing cross. Looked around, ooh toilets *runs*. Damn, 20p *finds it*, goes downstairs.. machines out of order? That means i spent all that time finding a 20p for nothing?! Eurgh. Came back out, then we were bored waiting, so we caught the london underground (bakerloo line) to paddington station (yes, the bear - 3rd train). Got off there, ooh damn.. no Ana, where the hell is she? Looked at the paddington bear shop, tonns of toys and stuff, all good. Then looked around and decided to buy a sandwich from EAT. (I love EAT.) but it was closed, eurgh. So went down the escalators again, and decided to buy a sandwich from one of the other 10 million shops which sold them, finally chose to get one from sainsburys. Wait a tic, sainsburys.. a supermarket.. at a train station?? Now thats weird. Anyway, bought sandwich and decided to walk around the hot and noisy station (the trains were all diesel by the looks of things, so were bluddy noisy), finally saw Ana once we'd finished sandwich. So went to get the london underground back to charing X. Realised there was no bins anywhere (stations dont have bins, if they do they're seethrough bags). (4th train). So, got to Charing cross, wtf? Train leaves in 5 mins *runs onto train, and races Ana and co who were outside to top of train). Sat down, went to tunbridge wells.. (5th train).
Once we'd got there i remembered that NOTHING is really open in tun wells, damn. So we went to pizza hut, they took like 45mins to make our pizza and stuff, and we managed to fit in 5 refills before pizza (yayness :D). Ate pizza, realised that Ana and her cousin Domenica(sp?) had to be in Ovford in one hour, oh well, they'll have to be very late (3hrs to oxford from tun wells :P) So rushed the pizza hut staff, and left quickly. (giving the woman about 2.5% of the meal cost as tips, its supposed to be 10, but we found the service poor, so she had to put up with a 70p tip).
Ran to station, ooh, the south eastern guy on platform said it would be 30mins, and a normal service train to london (daaamnn, means it only misses 4 stations :/). Decided to take millions of photos of station, and of me, david, dom and Ana together. This chav decided to hang around near us, scaring the shit out of us (well.. nerving out, we hate chavs). He kept on eyeing us, looked like he wouldn't do anything, but no one would give him 2 £5 notes in swap for a tenner on the station (including me, even though i had about 7.. i didn't want him to see i had £130 with me :P). So, finally the train came, so got to run away from the stalking chav. It was now dark (darkening dark). Texted holly telling her we're going to london, yayness :D.
Got on train, first thing i recieve is a phone call from mum. 'Where the hell are you?', 'You're going to london, at this time, with only ONE friend, and in the dark?!', 'I'm worried', 'Oh, just make sure you're gonna stay in the station!' Well of course i wont leave the damn station when dropping someone off >_>. Next thing we see is... the conductor for earlier 'What the hell are you doing on the train again! Hahah, you like trains or something?'. Told him we were dropping someone off. So he gave us all the useful info like 'you'll have 15mins until the train leaves Charing X again, as this is the last train back so you'd be catching this one, its a fast train to tonbridge then stops at every station afterwards. Although you may have less time in Charing X as we're stopping for a while in Tonbridge on the way up as we have some police joining us because of some trouble in the first carrage'. Right on cue, we hear major banging from the front carrage, like someone was running and jumping at the side of the train. So, the train driver went away again. (6th train journey ;)). Sure enough, we got to Tonbridge to be met by 5 police officers who were talking to the guys, then dragged them off the train (obviously got arrested). Train carried on as usual until near london, when the driver said really loudly over the P.A. system (like he was kinda nervous) for the conductor to get to the front, and quickly. So the guy came over and when he walked past us he decided to say that we only had 3mins until the train left Charing X, great. So had to tell Ana and Dom all the info :). By this time we were all talking like mad, as we'd got used to each other, with very little shyness happening :D. Went past the london eye, where Ana squealed tonns and took millions of photos. Its very cool when its in the dark with the blue lights on :). Stopped at Charing X, said goodbye to Ana, and then ran back onto train.
Went home, it was a fast train, missing about 3/4 more stations on the way back only made the journey last for 40 mins rather than the usual hour. All good! Talked to the conductor a bit more, had fun trying to look out of window and stuff. (7th and final train of the day, or first train of today if you wanna call it that :P). Got off at stonegate, to find it was only me getting off there, said goodbye to conductor who was at the back with his head out the window, and went home.
That was my excellent afternoon/evening out to london/around the south east. Now that proves i can use public transport easily, including tubes.. by myself! And i can cope in the dark and stuff :D. It may look like a small step for usual humans, but it was a great big step in Petey confidence and experience and travelling :). Looking forward to doing it again, but further away! Like... NEWCASTLE! Yeah, go on Holly, you know you wanna meet me soon :P. Now i'm tired and stuff, getting up in 8hrs for work -_-. So yeah, talk to you all later! Love you all xxx *huggles madly*
