Summary: Laid-back and somewhat absent-mindedly seductive umbrella craftsman Shiro and hot-blooded officer Kojiro, who stands against all things undisciplined, get involved in a bloody and erotic thrill-ride in an off-kilter town. This action packed jack-of-all-trades will have you swooning at its sexiness and leave you more addicted than opium! Tsujiki NAO Tsukiji ‘s very first collection of works!
Review: Technically this series is really a shoujo, but the jokes and stuff make it kind of shounen-ai. The artwork on this series is truly drool worthy. All the bare skin and flair for details makes the panels very erotic in a way.
Each chapter is episodic and deals w/ various bizarre murder cases that Kojiro must investigate. By coincidence, Shiro, a lazy umbrella maker w/ a shady past always has some connection to the murders. The murder cases often lean toward more of the horror type, but are uniquely intriguing in its variety.
The highlight of the series is of course the characters and the slow bits of details that are revealed about Shiro. I love the relationship between Shiro and Kojiro. There’s no BL, but the jokes are always amusing about Kojiro trying to man up Shiro by getting him to wear manly underwear or a uniform. Kojiro plays the conservative cop compared to Shiro’s whimsical comedy routine. However, Kojiro sometimes can come across as surprisingly sharp and aggressive at times.
From the gorgeous artwork, character development, hilarious dialogue, and the intriguing bits of story line, it’s truly a great series.
