Summary: The world is split into two kinds of people: those on the "inside" of EDEN, and those on the "outside". Within EDEN there is clean air and water - it lived up to its name of a true paradise. But EDEN cannot contain all of the people of the world. EDEN actually made conditions worse for those outside. Because of this, many resistance groups have been formed. Ricalna Forde is a soldier of the resistance team COSMOS, whose mission is to infiltrate EDEN's main headquarters and destroy the "Central CPU" - that controls all of EDEN.
Review: What a surprisingly great series! I love the artwork and the fact that there's no clear good or evil side. It’s not about some young boy powering up for the greater good. In some ways, the main character, Ricalna, reminds me of Setsuna from “Gundam 00”; both characters kind of start out as brainwashed terrorists, who change sides later on.
After some apocalypse due to a war, where the planet was pretty much razed, there is only one restricted city left. Everything outside of the city is a ghetto, so there are all sorts of rebellion groups targeting the city for various reasons. Everyone on the inside of the city considers these acts of rebellion just terrorist activities because they are indiscriminate in their attacks. The rebel groups will kill unarmed citizens. On the other hand, some factions w/in the city will kill off unarmed ghetto areas as well. So there’s truly no good side. Everyone’s agenda appears to be shrouded in mystery.
Ricalna and his sister work as part of a rebellion group that is targeting the main city’s computers. During one raid Ricalna gets killed, only to wake up a VERY long time later to find he’s now forced to work for the very side that killed him.
I highly recommend this series, and I’m dying to know more about ADAM, EDEN, Ricalna’s ex-leader, Ricalna’s sister, and etc. This series would also make a perfect candidate for an anime. It’s got a perfect mix of tragedy, action, and drama. The artwork is very nice as well. The characters all look young, but at least they don’t all look like teenagers or kids.
The artist of this series is also well known for “Monochrome Factor”, which I’ve watched but never read. Because I liked “Mother Keeper” so much, I plan on reading all her other two series as well.
