Summary: The fourth son of the famous Caluanthes family is, well, quite infamous. Mockingly referred to as a bird of paradise, Fourth dresses gaudily, spends money like water, and has turned the trip he's been sent on to learn more about the world into his own personal gourmet dining tour. His behavior makes the rest of high society whisper about him behind his back. The only exception is Eiri Lawrence, who finds Fourth and his entourage intriguing rather than laughable - and who is everything that Fourth is not. Theirs is the world of high society, where truth and falsehood, and dark and light, intertwine.

Review: This one is categorized as shoujo, but I would say it’s more like josei. There’s no romance, and if anything it feels a bit like shounen ai since there are no females. The artwork is absoluletly gorgeous, and the main characters are bishies.

There doesn’t appear to be a main plot yet, just a general theme about judging a person by their public looks and behavior.

The fourth son of the Caluanthes is on a learning tour. Most people avoid him because he’s a gaudy dresser, hangs out w/ low class people, behaves atrociously in public, and doesn’t contribute anything to his family’s work or society in general. Eiri Lawrence, on the other hand is the second son of a newly rich family. He’s intelligent and basically perfect in everything. Eiri is on his own tour to gather acquanteces and meet new people for his brother. While on tour, constantly runs into the Fourth. While the Fourth is stationed higher than Eiri, people regard him as an outcast. Eiri is constantly intrigued by him and ends up traveling w/ the Fourth’s group by coincidence.

While there doesn’t appear to be a centralized plot, I can understand the fascination w/ the Fourth. He’s gaudy, foul mouthed, suffers no fools, but is super intelligent. I also get the feeling that there’s a reason for his behavior and for the amount of money he’s spending. Great character build ups and very pretty artwork.
