Today I have determined that I am one of the least lost people in the office. Though I think I allready knew this, it still doesn't make it any less of a strange realization. When you are basically handling responsibillities that can effect the outcome of someone's academic future and potentially their life, you would think a little more care would should taken by the people that work in the administrative offices here. Not only do we have a responsiblity to students from a sort of moral standpoint (by moral I suppose what I mean is actually giving a shit and showing human concern, and not just saying fuck it any old way will do it), it just makes smart business sense that you would want to have the best customer care possible. The point is people around here are wondering why we have a hard time attracting quality students, and the solution is fairly simple. We need to become more selective in our admissions policies and we need to not treat potential and current students like ass. I'm going off on a rant here because we keep on having meetings about these issues, but change is so very slow in the public sector.
Bah, ok back to work...more ranting later perhaps.
