the goose explains the value of a fine education;

Listen up, all you miscreants of academia: your education is a privilege. A privilege that many of you certainly don't deserve, but that you've somehow been given anyways, and for God's sake, I expect you to take advantage of this karmic oversight and do everything you can to at least graduate. Your professors are learned men whom you should take ( Read more... )

That's not a vendetta. Everyone hates the Scottish people.

Of course we do.

How else are we supposed to respond to haggis and the convention of hairy men in dresses? You've practically begged for our disdain.

Really? I guess I wouldn't know since I didn't watch all of it, really. We watched a parts of it in one of my classes, but Sister Helen said that we couldn't watch all of it because there were some parts that were inappropriate for girls. Maybe now that I'm fifteen I can watch all of it. I'll ask my parents.

Oh! How old are you?

I go to the Sacred Heart Convent in Manhattan. My school is only for girls, too! I've been here since kindergarten.

Twenty-four! My mother says that I have a young spirit, though!

How super! Personally, I think that all-girl schools are just plain better; is your one a boarding school too??

I would have thought you were younger.

I'm sure it's better, but I don't know. My brother goes to an all-boys school and my sister just started at Sacred Heart this year. She says she doesn't want to go there, but I'm sure she'll realize how nice it is soon.

No, I stay at home with my parents. I would hate to be away from them, and I don't think I could do gymnastics if I lived at school.

I get that a lot?? Though i think that's a good thing! I'd rather be younger than a spinster.

I bet she will! I rather disliked school at first, but I adored it after a few weeks! You just have to stick it out, my mother says, and our school motto was make haste slowly, so I suppose being the tortoise was fate!

Gymnastics? Do you do competitions?? I did horse riding at school!

That's good. My mother spends a lot of time with face creams trying to look young.

I really like school though I have trouble memorizing the things in Bible class. I think that our uniforms are very nice. Our school is very clean. I suppose it helps that we only have girls. My brother Edward is very messy.

I do! I have gone to regional and state. I hope I can make it to nationals this year. I like to do the floor and balance beam the best. I've never gone horse riding!
