I....cannot even begin to describe the last 72 hours down near the border of Khazikstan. Nor will I in full detail. All I can say for now is that if it wasn't for the training I recieved in the Army, I can guarentee you that I would not be alive right now. Nor would my photojurnalist companions. Fare enough. And your absolutely right. I don't read The Wall Street Journal, the Economist, the London Financial Times, The Guardian, Le Monde or the Haaretz. Inexperienced? Its a fare assumption yes, because of my age. But you don't know a damn thing about me. And I can with the utmost certainty tell you know that if it wasn't for my "experience" and training in the Army, I would not be alive right now, and most likely neither would my companions. And yes yes yes, everyone and their mother knows how politically corrupt the Russian Federation and is due to the avalanche of privatization that you mentioned. And yes, I understand that these guys were most likely on the payroll of someone in the administration, thats pretty obvious. All I was saying was my observation that none of these guys had uniforms and their weapons and equipment was pretty mismatched. Don't tell me who was there or who wasn't, because you certainly were not. Uniform or no uniform, I can easily tell the difference between Russian trained troops in guise, and mercs make'n a buck. These men were definatly not direct employees of a government institution. YES, they were most likely on a payroll as I mentioned, but I'm just saying that these personel were definatly not organized or discipline enough to be Russian military or law enforcement personel. thats all.
