[oom; a conversation]

"Why is it that you will not share your information with me, Gaia?"

"Why should I?"

"I am your husband! Much as you dislike that fact, I believe I'm entitled to --"

"You are also my child, Ouranos, and a very insolent one, at that. Galavanting with mortals -- why should any matter within our family concern you?"

"Eirene is my granddaughter!"

"And Zeus is your grandson."

"I acknowledge no son of Kronos as my grandchild," the Sky says sharply, clouds churning restlessly within his great sea of blue.

"Then why should I share any information with you, if you will not even acknowledge your own flesh and blood?"

"Gaia! I will not tolerate --"

"You have no authority to tell me what it is you will and will not tolerate."

"Don't I? You lay at my mercy. Or perhaps you've forgotten?"

"How do you mean?"

"Without me, what are you? A bare, dry, lifeless rock."

"Empty threats, Ouranos, you're all talk."

"Am I?"

The Earth falls silent for a moment.

"I believe so, yes."

"We will see, then, won't we?"

The Earth does not respond and the Sky speaks no further, and the clouds lazily roll by above the green hills as though everything is okay.
