Yesterday I had another session with the PT. She did some more energy work in addition to regular PT stuff. This time was in some ways less trippy and in some ways more trippy than the first time. Less trippy in that I wasn't feeling the energy surges so much, and I wasn't having so many images and sensations. More trippy in that she was getting an image while working on me, which seemed to fit in with what I was experiencing.
She said she had this image of an old-timey sort of photograph of me on a boat wearing rubber boots and a hat, and there was a whale coming out of the ocean near the boat. The whale wasn't threatening me or anything, she said, just rising out of the ocean nearby. I was looking up at it, at its underbelly. Which I found interesting on a couple of counts: (1) I had dreamed of oceans and tidal waves the night before and (2) before she told me about the image, what had been going through my head was "Pay attention. Pay attention. Don't waste this gift of back pain, pay attention."
So ... seems like something big rising out of the depths of my subconscious that I need to pay attention to. Something that maybe I wouldn't pay attention to if I didn't have this back pain forcing me to slow down. Spending some time meditating and writing would probably be an excellent thing.
