Toy Story 3

Perhaps it was the rave reviews that made me skeptical of this third installment. Fortunately I had nothing to fear: watching the scene where the panorama of Sunnyside is revealed to the toys, I realised that Pixar knew what they were doing and I was in for a great ride.

The film possessed not only swift pacing and slick prison-break imitations, but some difficult and touching issues. These dispelled impressions of emotional superficiality that I'm particularly sensitive to in CGI movies.

The extras depicting how the actor for Andy has remained constant after all this time made me understand the nostalgia at the heart of the film.
