[ Amory's network posts always seem full of stars and night, and this post is no exception: dark ink floods the screen, freckled with brilliant, white pinpoints. Shrouded in the darkness, the neighboring mountain hills seem arguably existent as they blend into the night.

That's the illusion. Rather, the earth rotates around the sun, and spins on its axis, giving us the impression that the stars move.

Rotation doesn't explain why stars-- constellations appear and reappear.

Exactly. It makes you wonder - "are we even on a planet? Or is this some sort of absurd void in space?"
