Hooray for role-playing with old friends. There were some technical problems with the Skype set-up, but I feel like we've overcome them, so next session should be silky smooth. Jared is playing a morbidly obese man with autism. Wish him luck in being able to play such a difficult concept and wish me luck on finding ways to make situations that ( Read more... )

I don't remember him saying that. I really thought he was playing a tiger for a while.

I'll do what I can with tech problems and try to find a new whiteboard program and mail everyone about it

Heh, yea. I think Jared needs to be less facetious because it's harder to figure out sarcasm without seeing people's faces.

Good times indeed. And yea, I do worry a bit about combat without some sort of graphic display.

Skype role-playing? I've contemplated the concept, but always wondered how it would work out in execution.

I'll let you know how it goes. The first session was hampered by people trying to figure out their hardware configurations and such. Overall though, it seemed to work fine. Sadly, webcams don't work during conference calls, so there aren't any facial cues and that's sad. Not insurmountable though.
