EP 15, “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid,” March 25, 2010
  • IT’S BOBBY’S WIFE! - Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate Bobby’s home town where the dead are rising from the grave but instead of attacking humans, they are happily reuniting with their families. The brothers turn to Bobby (Jim Beaver) for help but he tells them not to worry about it and to leave town. Suspicious, Dean investigates and comes face to face with Bobby’s dead wife (guest star Carrie Anne Fleming) who has no memory of what happened to her. Once the zombies start turning evil, the boys tell Bobby he has to kill his wife but he refuses. John Showalter directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver
  • 12-15: Kristin: Happy zombies! Sam and Dean find a town where everyone's loved ones come back to life as zombies but they're nice, friendly, non-brain-eating zombies...oh, and one of them is Bobby's dead wife.
  • 11-30: Sera: A case will bring Sam and Dean to Bobby’s town. That episode brings new insight into Bobby’s current state of mind and also expands his backstory.
  • 11-19: Sera: We’re also doing our twist on a zombie story. It’s different from the Croatoan virus zombies. These are post-modern with lots of personality.
  • Don’t they chomp on flesh? I can’t say too much. [Laughs] They’re not necessarily bad zombies. At least not right off the bat. They’re zombies that make you think.
  • 11-20: Spoiler TV: [SHERIFF MILLS] In her mid 30s to mid 40s, tough and no-nonsense while on the job, but tender and loving toward her family, she's the Sheriff in a small town, she’s calm under pressure even when things turn very personal...please submit all ethnicities...GUEST STAR (5)
  • [KAREN SINGER] In her late 20s to 30s. Blonde, young and attractive, she’s wise, direct, a straight shooter and nobody’s fool...GUEST STAR (16)
EP 16, “Dark Side of the Moon,” April 1, 2010
  • 03-11: CW Synopsis: SAM AND DEAN ARE KILLED AND GO TO HEAVEN - Ambushed by angry hunters, Sam  and Dean are shot and killed and sent to Heaven. Castiel warns Dean that Zachariah is looking for them in Heaven so they need to lay low while searching for an angel named Joshua (guest star Roger Aaron Brown) who can help them since he talks directly to God. While searching for Joshua, the brothers run into some old friends and family members. Jeff Woolnough directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb & Daniel Loflin
  • 03-03:  SpoilerTV: We already know that Samantha Smith will return as Mary Winchester in ‘Supernatural’s 100th episode. Can you tell us more about the other characters they are bringing back? - Actually, Smith is returning not for the milestone outing, but for the episode airing two weeks prior, on April 1 (no joke). No. 100 will offer longtime fans a couple blasts from the past, but it’d spoil all the fun if I ID’d them for you. Just pay close attention come April 15.
  • 02-24: Samantha Smith: Hey all- look for Mary to return in a few weeks, when Supernatural is back on air. It's a good one! 2 hours ago.
  • 2-14: IMDB: Traci Dinwiddle is back as Pamela Barns
  • 01-10: Ausiello: Got any Supernatural scoopage? We’re dying out here! Ausiello: That’s just the segue I was looking for! An upcoming episode will be set in heaven - after Sam and Dean have been murdered!
  • 12-13: Director: Jeff Woolnough, Shoot Dates: 11th Jan 2010 - 20th Jan 2010.
  • [JOSHUA] This benevolent -- dignified, very Zen man in his 50’s-70’s is inflappable, simple, but not insincere. A Morgan Freemen type vibe. PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES. GUEST STAR
EP 17, “99 Problems,” April 8, 2010
  • 03-18: MICHAEL SHANKS ("STARGATE SG-1," "SMALLVILLE" ) GUEST STARS AS A HUNTER - Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are outnumbered by demons, but are saved at the last minute by Rob (guest star Michael Shanks) and his townspeople, who are aware of the Apocalypse, and have been training to fight and kill demons. The small town is very religious and Sam and Dean meet Pastor Gideon (guest star Larry Poindexter), who introduces them to his daughter Leah (guest star Kayla Mae Maloney.), whom he claims is a prophet. Leah tells the townspeople they must obey her orders if they want a spot in Heaven but when she starts turning the townspeople against each other in the name of the Lord, the brothers realize they must kill her. Charles Beeson directed the episode written by Julie Siege (##517).
  • 2-9: Michael Shanks Interview: As far as his Supernatural gig, the episode is called "99 Problems," and he plays a man who is part of a "Bible-thumping militia" that's fighting to stop the apocalypse. "I think I get my ass beat by both Jared [Padalecki, who plays Sam] and Jensen [Ackles, who plays Dean] at different points in the show. It's a lot of fun," he said.
  • 2-2: Michael Shanks Interview: Nrama: So what do you have coming up next? Shanks: I literally just yesterday finished a guest spot on Supernatural. I had a relatively minor role in it, working with Jared (Padalecki) and Jensen (Ackles), and a few other actors, fighting some demons and throwing down with the boys. I think that will be out in a couple months. The episode is called, I think, '99 Problems'. I'm not featured quite prominently in it, but it was a lot of fun to play in that universe. It fit into my schedule quite handily. That's why I did it.
  • Nrama: Is there anything about the character you can tell us? Shanks: Yeah. The character's name is Rob, and he's a member of the Sacrament Lutheran Church, and basically it's a township that has pretty much organized to fight the demon apocalypse that's coming. They're not running and screaming. They're hunkering down. They've figured out a way to fight and whatnot. They boys come across them and are quite enamored by they way they've organized themselves. They have a sort of militia...when a tragedy occurs in Rob's family he sort of takes a bit of a hardline approach when it comes to his beliefs. I'll leave it at that because it starts getting into spoiler territory beyond that.
  • 1-23: The Stargate SG-1 alum will play a man named Rob, who is part of a local militia. Rob comes with a wife and son, but after a loss will devote himself solely to a cause. What's the cause? Well, I'm still working on that. But feel free to guess below how this character might link up with the Winchester bros' mission.
  • 1-10: Casting Calls for 5.17, "99 Problems" Director: Charles Beeson: [ABBY] Early 20s.. a shy, cute, innocent, girl-next-door type. (Think Amy Adams in "DOUBT" in demeanor and earnestness.) She's Pastor Gideon's daughter, but uncomfortable with attention. She's determined to save the souls of everyone in her town, but her methods soon give way to dangerous tactics...GUEST STAR (8)
  • [PASTOR DAVID GIDEON] In his 40s.. he is a very likeable, thoughtful, heartfelt, sincere and down-to-earth leader. Though he doesn't look like it in jeans and boots, he is a small town preacher who's been tasked with leading a militia against the impending Apocalypse. He's proud of his daughter Abby, who's proven to be a pivotal weapon in the fight against evil, but when Abby's behavior becomes more extreme, Gideon struggles with a tough decision...GUEST STAR (6)
EP 18, “Point of No Return,” April 15, 2010
  • 3-26: SUPERNATURAL'S 100TH EPISODE STUNS WITH AN OLD FRIEND AND A SACRIFICE - Dean (Jensen Ackles) begins to think the only way to stop Lucifer is to say yes to Michael, but the angels decide they don't need him anymore..... Dean, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are horrified at the angels' new game plan and take on Zachariah (guest star Kurt Fuller) to prevent an all out war on Earth. Meanwhile, a familiar face returns. Phil Sgrricia directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver from CW
  • 3-17: Ausiello: Question: Seems like a lot of crazy rumors are flying around about Supernatural’s big 100th episode - especially that bit about the major death. Please reassure my terrified heart that it won’t be either Castiel or Bobby. What would our boys do without them?  Ausiello: There’s a death, but I wouldn’t exactly call it major.
  • Question: Can you give us some more Supernatural scoop for the 100th episode please? Ausiello: Prepare to see Castiel like you’ve never seen him before: royally pissed off.
  • 03-10: Ausiello: Please tell me it isn’t true. Please tell me Ruby won’t be in the 100th episode of Supernatural! I’ll give you ice cream with sprinkles on top. Ausiello: No, Ruby won’t be in the 100th episode. But Zachariah (Kurt Fuller) will be. I scream, you scream, gimme this ice cream!
  • 03-04: VancouverGirl Twitter: How 'bout I expect to hear a collective scream of "No!" work it's way across time zones as the 100ep airs
  • 2-24: Ausiello: In the milestone episode, airing April 15,”a very important character will sacrifice themselves in a suicide mission,” reveals exec producer Sera Gamble. “We definitely kept in mind that this was [an important] episode. We wanted to deliver something with real scope; it’s about the Archangel Michael. Crises will come to a head for Dean and Castiel. And you’ll see characters you never thought you’d see again.”
  • 1-31: From Catalina Walsh's Twitter: Supernatural 100th episode is about Michael and Dean, but also Lucifer and Sam.
  • 1-28: Sera Interview: The 100th episode! Congratulations! What can you tell us about the episode? We want it to feel appropriately substantial. The most I can say right now is that it's about the Archangel Michael. It's the episode where a lot of building tensions you'll have watched over several episodes simmer over. Dean will behave in a way you've never seen before. So will Sam. So will Castiel. Actually, I'm particularly proud of where we take Sam in this episode. He has a kind of maturity in dealing with Dean that it took us a hundred episodes to earn.
  • 11-23: EW: Time flies when you’re battling demons and preventing apocalypses and stuff. Case in point: Supernatural will celebrate its milestone 100th episode this spring with an hour that focuses largely on Dean (Jensen Ackles). “We’re aiming for it to be a big mythology episode,” reveals Supernatural boss Eric Kripke, adding that, “The Archangel Michael plays a very large part as we explore his relationship with Dean.”
  • 11-18: EW Magazine, Winter Preview: Time flies when you’re battling demons and preventing the apocalypse.  Case in point: SPN will celebrate its milestone 100th episode this spring with an hour that focuses largely on Dean.  “We’re aiming for it to be a big mythology episode,” reveals Kripke, who adds that “the archangel Michael plays a very large part as we explore his relationship with Dean.”  And it’s all capped off with a cake-cutting ceremony hosted by Lucifer!
EP 19, “Hammer of the Gods” (title possibly incorrect), April 22, 2010
  • 3-11: Adam Croasdell Interview: What can you tell us about your character? "I play Baldur, the Norse God Of Light. I'm not sure how much I can tell you, but I will say that I had a lot of fun doing his scenes with Sam and Dean!"
  • How much have you filmed? "I've pretty much finished all of my filming. I was shooting in Vancouver over the Olympics, which was the best time to be there! The Canadians were fantastic and so festive, so it was a perfect first job out here. I'm just in one episode - episode 19 - but that's hopefully the start of my work out here and there is more to follow."
  • Why does Baldur enter the Supernatural universe? "This is Supernatural, so of course there's a reason why he appears, but if I said any more it would blow his entire story! He's fairly important, but aren't all Gods important?! Is he important in the overall apocalypse storyline? Well, that remains to be seen! I have a little bit of a fight with one of the other actors, which I quite liked because it's a bit of a release from all the dialogue. In EastEnders, old Dr Al was such a nice guy, so it's nice to break from that in Supernatural. It felt good!"
  • So, is your Norse God not a nice guy then?! "Well you know, all Gods have huge egos don't they?! He's got a bit of both going on. I'm sorry I can't say any more!"
  • 2-11: Digital Spy: Former EastEnders actor Adam Croasdell has landed a role in hit American drama Supernatural, Digital Spy can reveal. The 29-year-old, currently best known for his part as Walford's Dr Al Jenkins, is to play Baldur, the Norse god of light on the CW series.
  • 2-2: Episode 5.19 - OMFG - [KALI] (20-30’s).. A beautiful Indian woman, wearing stilettos, pencil skirt and a low cut top, she looks like the hottest lawyer you've ever seen. Intimidating, calm, powerful, always in control, sensual with a sensitive side, but can be deadly when she wants something. She’ is a leader with plans and the determination to put them in place. EP 20, “Let The Games Begin,” April 19, 2010
  • 03-06: Spoiler TV is reporting that Episode 20 will be titled "(Better) The Devil You Know" and air on April 29th, 2010.
  • 03-01-10: TVG: From the article: "Our first brush with him in Episode 520 seems relatively innocuous and then unfolds into something more substantial," executive producer Sera Gamble said. "Put it to you this way: Horsemen on our show tend to think several moves ahead."
  • 02-16-10: TVG Magazine: Famine, step aside. Following the stomach-turning cannibalistic introduction of the third of of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse on last week's Supernatural, the just renewed CW hit is searching for a 40-50 year old man to play Pestilence. This latest Horseman is described as quirky, unassuming and highly intelligent. Oh, he's also a bit neurotic and has a..a...ha-choo! A cold! Nasty!
  • Since Pestilence is defined as "a fatal, usually fatal epidemic disease," we can expect our Winchester brothers to be challenged by Pestilence's smarts as he attempts to carry out a diabolical plan of bio-terrorism. Stock up on the Cold-Eeze!
  • Also complicating matters will be a character from Sam's Stanford years named Tyson, who is now working for a pharmaceutical company and has plans to capitalize on a disgusting flu virus by providing the vaccine.
  • 2-23: Mark Shepard: SHEPPARD: Yes, I’m back. I called [SUPERNATURAL creator] Eric [Kripke] and said, “Shall we leak this?” He said, “Absolutely.” I said, “What shall we come up with?” We came up with, “Crowley forms an unholy alliance.” It’s a great character, it’s a fabulous character.
  • 2-11: Mo Ryan: Well, Crowley will be back in cahoots with Sam and Dean toward the end of the season. Sheppard said he's going to appear in Episode 20 of Season 5 -- and don't be surprised if Crowley is around for more than one episode. Even better news? "Supernatural's" Ben Edlund is writing Episode 20 (he also wrote "Abandon All Hope..." as well as any number of memorable Winchester outings).
MISC SPOILERS: still not sure of the episode

03-26-10: Set Visitors
  • Quote: ill tell u what i saw with my eyes:

  • Sam: "...the last time i checked --" [rest is indistinguishable]
  • Dean: "Well I dont know what to tell you. I saw a shot and I took it."
  • They Load Cas & other guy into car and shut there doors...sam looks at dean over the roof of the impala and says: "Your going to do something stupid.. like Micheal stupid.." Deans doesn't respond and gets into the impala...
02-24-10
  • TVSpy (real or not?): Sam, who is wracked with guilt and facing brother Dean’s anger at his actions, decides the only way to save the world is to let the Devil take control of him, setting off a power struggle for his soul that has potentially horrifying consequences. “Lucifer wants Sam to be his vessel and Sam thinks he is strong enough to let it happen and get rid of him” explains Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam. "The brothers spend most of the series attempting to restore their own broken relationship while trying to stop Lucifer from destroying Earth."
02-14-10: Interview with Mark Pelligrino
  • Mark Pelligrino Episode: Melissa Parker (Our Prattville): How do you get into a mindset to play Lucifer?
  • Mark Pellegrino: Well, I think the thing is … Lucifer’s problem is very human. So, I don’t have to think about anything immortal or celestial. I just think about the issues in terms of human issues and the issue to me is that Lucifer was betrayed by his father and his brother whom he admired for something less than him. He was thrown over … sacrificed, and he wants revenge. So I think that’s a pretty down to earth issue that almost anybody can relate to.
  • Melissa Parker (Our Prattville): Lucifer will have it out with the Winchester boys soon.
  • Mark Pellegrino: He’s going to use them to get what he wants. He’s going to use them to exact his revenge on his dad and brother. I think there’s a fight brewing between the brothers, that’s for sure.
02-04-10: Sci Fi Magazine
  • As far as the apocalypse goes and the brother's future, don't worry, says Edlund. "As it turns out, we've decided that Sam and Dean are going to die, many times. And this is a terrible plight when you think about it. It's a terrible thing when nobody lets you die. They might imprison you forever or take over your body or they might torture you, but you can't get out of the game. That's their problem."
01-28-10: Sera Gamble Interview
  • Will God appear on the show, and do you have an actor/actress already cast for the role if this does, indeed, happen? I can tell you that we wrap up the search for God storyline, but I don't want to give too much away. Sorry!
  • There are four archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel. We've heard of Michael and have met Raphael and Gabriel. With Uriel not being presented as an archangel on Supernatural, will there be a fourth archangel on the series? The fourth archangel is Lucifer.
  • You've already brought back Ellen, Jo and Rufus this season, and Ash returns in a future episode, as well. Whom else are you bringing back? As you've probably heard by now, Young Mary and John are appearing in an upcoming episode. So is Anna. Before the end of the season, we'll be bringing back a lot of faves. I don't want to give every single one of them away, but they will include: Zachariah, the Trickster and Crowley.
  • We met Mary's parents. Will we also meet John's? Not this season. But if there's a season six, that's always a possibility.
  • Will there be more stand-alone episodes this season? Our next episode has to do with body-swapping, and it's a pretty classic stand-alone. After that, we have episodes that feel driven by the apocalypse, and some that feel more classically case-driven-- but even those tend to reveal a connection to what's happening in the bigger story. As we get closer to the finish line, the apocalypse gets harder to ignore. And, while we have it, we've been using it to generate cases. Turns out there are quite a few good monsters in the Book of Revelation.
01-25-10: Kristin at E! Online
  • In other, better SPN news, Sam and Dean's long-lost half-brother from the season four episode "Jump the Shark," the awesome but dead Adam Milligan (Jake Abel), comes back to play a pivotal role in an upcoming episode.
12-15-09: Kristin at E! Online
  • In other Supernatural news, we'll be meeting another horseman of the apocalypse (Famine, this time, rather than War), and the Prophet Chuck will definitely be back, although probably not in the company of his Supernatural-fangirl girlfriend.
11-30-09:  Sera Gamble Interview
  • SG: More of Lucifer’s plan will be revealed as the season goes on. Can’t lay it all out for you without spoiling future episodes!
  • SG: Sam and Dean may have reconciled, but that doesn’t negate the parallels between their history and Lucifer and Michael’s. Their family stories are still eerily similar. And yeah, from the angels’ perspective, it’s all well and good that Sam and Dean think they’re gonna fight together-but they’re the predestined vessels, so ultimately they’re gonna give in.
  • SG: You will meet Michael soon. I can’t say more about the form he will take.
  • SG: Yes, Michael’s going to approach Dean. No, Dean cannot tolerate hearing angels’ true voices.
  • SG: The amulet figures into an upcoming episode. If I directly answer your question, I’ll give too much away about both Dean and Cass. Not to mention God.
11-19-09: E! Online
  • When we asked if God was going to get a permanent meat suit and/or an actor cast to play him, our inside source came back with a suspiciously circumspect reply: "No comment."
  • As for God's right-hand man, some of you have asked if the storied archangel Michael would be appearing as a featured player, à la Lucifer, Castiel and Zachariah. We hear that as much as we'd all like to "see" the dude who handpicked Dean (Jensen Ackles) as his vessel, Michael's appearances on our mortal coil will be in borrowed bodies of no major consequence. Darn it! Michael sounds like he would be crazy hot.
11-19-09: Blog Interview
  • When Supernatural first began on the WB in 2005, the story was simple: Dean Winchester (Ackles) recruits his little brother Sam (Padalecki) back into the family business of monster-busting in order to find their missing dad (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). At that time, Kripke had mapped out his grand, five-season plan that would feature Dean getting sent to hell, Sam flirting with his demonic dark side, Lucifer appearing on Earth and the Apocalypse starting. But a funny thing happened on the way to the end of the world: the heavenly host. “I had a rule as late as season three where I said I didn’t want angels on this show because I didn’t want to do the Michael Landon Highway to Heaven thing,” Kripke says. But while puttering around his house one day, it hit him that angels might be a good idea after all. “Old Testament angels, like warrior angels who smite and angels who destroy cities: That could be a whole new real estate that we hadn’t explored yet,” he recalls. “Star Wars had that amazing off-camera scope, where you had this massive empire and this massive rebellion, but the story is about a farm boy, a princess and a pirate. The angels and demons gave us this massive off-camera scope that Sam and Dean didn’t always have be so closely involved with. It really threw the whole world into focus for us.”
  • And it led to what’s become the big theme of this season. God has essentially gone missing from heaven, the angels are kind of a corrupt bunch, and the archangel Michael has chosen Dean to be his "weapon" against the fallen angel Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino), who wants Sam to be his vessel on Earth in this biblical face-off. “Once we started looking at the Lucifer/Michael story and realizing it’s a story about a loyal big brother and a disobedient little brother and their father and their relationship with him, we realized how closely it mirrored Sam and Dean’s story and that this is of course where everything had to culminate,” Kripke says. “This has always been a show that was primarily about family, and the thematics were always different aspects of family relationships: Do you obey your father or do you rebel? How much do you trust your brother? What’s more important, your family or your own personal ambition? We have this attitude that angels, demons, afterlife and the supernatural, it’s all just static, and that what’s really important is taking care of each other and taking care of your brothers, whoever they may be.”
  • Last night’s episode, the final one of 2009, featured Lucifer facing off against Sam, Dean and the good fallen angel, Castiel (Misha Collins), as Lucifer summoned the second of his Four Horsemen, Death. War was introduced earlier, and Kripke says that while Pestilence shows up near the end of the season, we’ll meet Famine in a February episode. “When you’re under the effects of Famine, you’re not necessarily hungry for food. You’re hungry for whatever that thing is you’re starving for, be it alcohol or attention or love or sex or Twinkies or heroine or gambling. We found a way to create a really quirky and disturbing and provocative episode because everyone at the end of the day is starving for something, and Famine brings that out.” Also, Michael will finally make his appearance in an episode where Sam and Dean go back and see their mom and dad as newlyweds. Michael’s “the one who kicked Lucifer’s ass the first time and is now gearing up for the rematch,” Kripke says. And the boys will visit heaven for the first time. “In case anyone wanted to know, heaven looks a lot like Vancouver,” Kripke quips. “At least we’ve been able to answer that question.”
  • And yes, God will definitely be appearing, Kripke reveals, probably in the season finale. “One of the storylines this season is about searching for God, and we want to answer that in our own way.” He says that that’s a tough casting call and chuckles at the suggestion of Christopher Walken maybe playing his Big Man Upstairs. “We’re just trying to figure out God’s motivation, and I tell you, that’s a weird place to be when you’re like, ‘So what’s God’s feeling in this scene?’ We’re talking about what should He be like as a character and what should His world view be. It’s like, when God talks, people listen. Whatever message He delivers, it’s going to be the message of the show.”
11-19-09: TVG Interview with Sera Gamble
  • We need some teasers to get us through a cold dark December without Supernatural. What can we look forward to? We are continuing to deal with the overarching storyline of the Apocalypse. The personal cost for our boys is real; they will suffer in every possible way. This season has been really funny but also very dark. The Supernatural palate has escalated due to the Apocalypse. We’re able to tell stories on a slightly larger scale.
  • Can you give us some peeks at those stories? We have several closed-ended episodes. In the first [“Sam, Interrupted,” airing January 21], the boys are contacted by a hunter who had worked a case that was so traumatic that he went crazy. He’s been voluntarily living in an insane asylum and something not right is happening there, and he calls the boys. So Sam and Dean check themselves in. The challenge of an episode like this is that it’s well-trodden territory in horror movies and television shows, so we made sure we had a different take. You don’t have to be crazy to be a hunter, but it helps. That’s what Sam and Dean explore. We’re also doing our twist on a zombie story. It’s different from the Croatoan virus zombies. These are post-modern with lots of personality.
  • Don’t they chomp on flesh? I can’t say too much. [Laughs] They’re not necessarily bad zombies. At least not right off the bat. They’re zombies that make you think.
  • Will we finally see God? Not any time soon, but people are definitely looking for him. It’s an ongoing quest for Castiel [Misha Collins]. It’s vitally important for him and increasingly interesting for the boys. Historically Sam has more faith. The jury is out for Dean as to whether or not God currently exists. We might be the only show on the CW actively searching for God.
  • What’s Lucifer’s next move? You’ll be seeing more of Lucifer. I really dig the actor [Mark Pellegrino]. You’ll learn more about how his taking Sam over figures into his plans. And how he came to find Nick, who’s his current [host]. And you will definitely start to understand the Archangel Michael’s perspective. He’s trying to become embodied and Dean is the only possible vessel for him. He’s not walking around in the here and now, so we have to be creative in introducing Michael. You will meet him.
  • Are there any holiday deconstructions this year, like you’ve done with the pagan roots of Christmas and Halloween? We will be doing a very dark and sinister Valentine’s Day episode. It’s an exploration of the nature of love and desire, which can be very destructive.
  • Anything else you can share? We’re also doing a body swap episode, Sam with a human-that’s all I will say. Fans have been clamoring for it for five seasons. The last thing I can tell you is that we will be further exploring the secrets of the Winchester family and Sam and Dean’s past. There’s more to reveal there.
  • Any Winchester family members showing up? Yeah, actually. You might get a flashback here and there.
11-17-09: TVG Magazine, Winter Preview
  • The personal cost of the Apocalypse for our boys is real. They will suffer in every possible way, reveals executive producer Sera Gamble. Well then Sam and Dean and their rebel angel ally, Castiel, better find the elusive God on the double.
  • Lucifer will return to bedevil Sam and we'll finally get to meet the evil one's rival, the archangel Michael, despite not having a body (it seems only the understandably reluctant Dean can be his human host).
  • But it's not all End of Days when Sam and Dean get involved in deliciously hoary horror in several standalone episodes. First up, something terrifying is happening in an insane asylum and that's not good for the boys when they check themselves in and can't get out. Then it's on to the Zombie Express when the brothers find a town overrun by the undead. They're not necessarily bad zombies, at least right off the bat, Gamble says. This season's very dark and sinister deconstruction of a holiday, Valentines Day, and in a nod to persistent fans, Sam gets a body swap, no telling with whom. And the show delves further into the secrets of the Winchester family. Promises Gamble, "there will be flashbacks".
