It would appear that I am now employed here - as a librarian. While I don't mind being around books for much of the day, I find it odd that all of the drones are treating me as if I have been working there for years. I take it this is, ah, "normal" for Mayfield

It is. When I received my job as a teacher, they had been acting like I had been teaching since the beginning of the school year.

And the library definitely contains more than that. I've spent a sizable amount of time browsing the history books, myself.

History? What land's history, I wonder...?

The United States of America. There are some books about foreign history, but they're all written from an American perspective.

Er...in a sense. I'm not entirely sure how his world works, but...from what I can tell, that...seems to be the case.

Yes. I don't know where Mayfield is truly located, but it was made to emulate an American town circa 1955.

If it truly is part of America, then yes. But I have my doubts as to whether we really are in America.

I don't believe we're in America at all. Whoever made this town is simply trying to emulate America.
