[ She's been hesitating. After figuring out what's going on, Madoka wasn't sure if she should lock up in her room or find Mami or what. But after some careful consideration, she goes to the phone and picks it up. ]

Um... um, hello? This is... well, I guess, it doesn't matter who I am, um... I'm not anyone who is particularly good at this sort of thing. I guess no one has any reason to take me seriously, I-I've never been in this sort of situation, but.... but...

[ her voice trails off. Shuddering, scared, she stops talking for a moment. Then pulls herself together ]

I'm Madoka Kaname! I know some of your got letters! I don't really know exactly what is in them, but I know that they say you need to... they say to kill someone, right? In order to make you want to do that, something really important must be at risk, and I... I don't want you to have to worry about the things you love, but I don't want you to kill anyone either, so...um...

I want to help you! Together, we can work this out, right? Let's all get together and protect those important things! Together! Please! I can't do much, but I'll do my best to help you! So don't feel like you have to hurt people, p-please...!!! u-um... [ an awkward pause. She let herself raise her voice, and now Madoka feels a bit awkward. ] P-please... please, just don't k-kill each other, I... I don't want th-that...

[ click. She hangs up and collapses into a nervous heap on the floor of her house. Being brave is so scaryyy. ]
