I was thinking it would be cool to build a little bot in my spare time out here. I used to participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition when I was in high school ( I went to a technology magnet school). I was trying to think about the applications, and I thought it would be cool to build a small nanobot with embedded linux that could map out wifi

And it could hop onto unprotected wireless networks to send back GPS-related tracking data (or anything you had programmed in)! Though I wonder how you'd get your data if it strayed into an area with no wifi coverage.

Also, having a graphical map of where the wireless networks were would be incredibly cool.

oh i failed to mention that it would be using my Tmobile acct. I found a page that shows how to hook up tmobile PCMCIA cards to embedded devices. So it could mail or msg me its locale from anywhere. :)

I am actually thinking about spending the money to make a motorized housing for my telescope, and attaching a ccd to it to photograph and compare starfield maps. I am a dork.
