Airborne motherfuck!

I was thinking it would be cool to build a little bot in my spare time out here. I used to participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition when I was in high school ( I went to a technology magnet school). I was trying to think about the applications, and I thought it would be cool to build a small nanobot with embedded linux that could map out wifi ( Read more... )

down boys.. jeez.. i know i spend a lot of time on here, but some days i dont get on my machine at all.

Ok, let me start by saying that when I brought up Tmobile, I was talking about their cellular pcmcia card, like sprint's, it is like a cell and a modem in one pcmcia card, so it would have 'wifi' from anywhere, even out in the boonies.

:)

An with that, I am thinking about comparing star fields. I mean it's the difference between maybe a link on /. and a supernova named after yours truly.

The card'll work in a service area. If you're out in the boonies you might not get coverage. Especially at altitude. Cell towers have down tilt on the antennas. the only reason I keep talking about Nextel is because I'm tech support there. I have a large pool of network information I can pull from.

The PCMCIA card isn't really "wifi." It's cell based packet data. You'd have internet connectivity (in a service area) but otherwise you're screwed.

Nextel has the same thing. It's called an iM1100. It's SIM based. Same security features as a cell phone.

If my sentences sound broken, forgive me. I'm tired.
