Corn de-tassling is the hardest thing I've ever done before. After 10 days I felt so bad for all the freaks who have 4 days left. I am missing huge chunks of skin and it hurts to sit, stand, walk, and basically move. But it's so great to work hard all day long and push yourself. And then to know that you don't have to. Makes me realize how fortunate I am...that I don't have a husband and five kids to feed, rent and bills all depending on how fast I pull tassles or how long I work in 90+ degree weather. It's ridiculous.
So I'm moving on to Tacoma...working and hopefully playing for a few weeks. I've got Bite of Seattle and Seafair with the Dancing Zorba crew...they're fun, but it was tiring work last time around. Then this crazy lady who's a friend of my dean's is having me do a gazillion odd jobs. It's gonna be funny. She's got me gardening, mowing the lawn, tutoring her daughter, painting, cleaning bathrooms & floors, driving the daughter places, and more. She says her husband is lazy, so I'm going to be doing what he's supposed to. God help me if I let my husband be lazy and have to pay some college kid $10/hour to do what should be free. CRAZY! And then the lady I was supposed to be nannying for calls me out of nowhere and wants me three days a week. It's like GOOD GRIEF people, I did want some free time in there somewhere!!! WTF mate?!?
So the fun times, you ask? 4, count them FOUR Karaoke nights at E-9, Kitefest, plays in Seattle, running by the waterfront in the morning, Alias with Alpha Team (Lauren's housemates), dinner with Jay's family (whoa, fastness, but his sister and her fiance are coming in to town!) and I might finally see Lorraine after like a year and a half. And then Jay and I are going boogey-boarding on the coast and I'll use up the last of my film from my deep sea camera from Hawaii LAST summer, Heidi and I are going to run around Vashon Island and see the Monastery and the Chocolate fudge factory there, Jay and I are gonna go to Mt. Rainier (FINALLY, geeeeeeeze!), and Fulwizzle's gonna take me clubbing and hopefully we'll find the Locks this time!!! Sweetness...
