I mean the entire thing is already ridiculous, but then the addition of the comments and the frame of mind that the people use as an excuse is just gross and mind-boggling. And then they're like, "we don't understand why people are so angry about it?" REALLY? REALLY? DO YOU WANT US TO GO THERE?

I feel like this entire country is in a really frightening place where a lot of hate is being used to fuel "politics" (what up, Tea Party) and they're just barely masquerading behind it with their empty arguments and posturing. I don't like it. It makes me nervous. But then again, I'm in the state of Virginia and last month was National Confederacy Month to honor that grand tradition, so I don't even know, man.

I agree. It's frightening to see how ugly people are getting. But it's not just it's being used to fuel politics, it's that politics, and of course, politicians are allowing it to have this major course effect on decision that I'm not comfortable with them making. At all. And no one's safe, even though I'm up in here, in Boston, where hopefully someone decides that pushing Glenn Beck in the Harbor, the next time he visits, would be awesome.
