I get teary eyed just thinking of him picking up that blue hankerchief, though, and reading about him looking at it again just makes it all the more worse.
Not that that's going to stop me from memming this and watching the episode, of course.

But this? Is wonderful. You have Doc Roe so dead on, and the cold, the fear, Bastogne and Renee. It's all so perfectly written, perfectly the way he would see it. I think it was this - The only thing missing is the snow - that for whatever reason made me start getting all emotional, and then it was all downhill from there. This is positively gorgeous; I could picture that last scene in my head, especially Nixon looking over Eugene's shoulder. So, so, so good.
