my feet hurt

hello all...just thought i'd update a lil about my nj/nyc trip before i forget...

the weather is great here but it wasn't so nice when i first got here on thursday. it was hot and humid and going to the city was a mistake...totally digusting in the subway tunnels, i almost threw up 3 times from the stench. saturday a bunch of us went to watch the yankee/angels game in the bronx, my first trip there...the day was cloudy and some sun was shining out but then it suddenly started pouring...not before the angels spanked them 4-1 at the middle of the 4th...it was great cuz the temperature dropped and the air was cleaned up from the storm...lots of thunder which we don't get in LA. me joo and peter went back to nj to watch harold and kumar (finally!) and got white castles to eat after...so awesome...found out the angels beat the yanks after the 4 hour rain delay 6-2 and went on to sweep them 3-0 over the weekend series :D sorry yooms!

sunday i went to metro's service, my third service in 8 months...actually i spent most of my time downstairs babysitting the kids and on the cell phone...after that, me and peter hung out with mike chun and his family, shot some pool, ate some corean food etc...

monday, went to the city all day to hang with sheryl and her cousin. went shopping at urban outfitters, 3 different locations...had lunch with kitty, my friend who is getting married on saturday...we went to this sushi place we went to last time close to her office between grand central and times square, a pretty good place with sushi on a conveyor belt...after, we went to GCT to eat cheesecake at junior's, a pretty famous place for cheesecake...went to sheryl's apartment in midtown after to rest a little before going to chinatown for malaysian food at this place called jaya, had my fave dish, hainanese chicken rice...it was good, better than LA places for sure but still not quite the same as singapore...i'll try another place on saturday maybe...spent the evening with joo and amy at bryant park watching "the big sleep" at a free outdoor film thing, quite nice...my first humphrey bogart flick and i hope to see casablanca soon...greasy good diner food at gotham city diner after :)

today, another long day in the city...after lunch in nj, i went to visit my friend shiwa at her new condo in brooklyn, a renovated chocolate factory with really great, well thought out condos...dinner in the upper east side with dr. christine, a derm resident at cornell...we ate italian at baraonda which was fantastic (i never have bad food in nyc...except that fake sabrett's hot dwog at yankee stadium, worst dwog EVAH, damn youse guys, damn youse guys to hell!)...i had lobster ravioli but christine got the better dish, mediterranean snapper with artichoke hearts, potatos, and other stuff...tiramisu, decaf finished it up and we headed to her apartment by the hospital, a great room on the 29th floor with a scant view of the empire state building and the east side...she's been addicted to watching olympics as have i so i watched a bit before the long trip back to palisade park where peter and his family live...

anyway, mostly writing this so i won't forget what a great time i had here (despite the horrible smell which has lessened somewhat thanks to the weather) and so hannah gets jealous :) be back soon...

oh yeah, the other thing i wanted to say...reminding myself: i'm at a loss as to what to do about that situation that was giving me so much pain before i left. amy thinks just leave it alone and hope for the best in the future...as much as i agree, i still think i should confront and clarify...will think this over more...but in the meantime, i'm alot happier...as always, it's the unknown that causes so much anxiety...
