Long, dark years uncounted
Stretched thin, tatters of memory
Remnants of what was, is, will be
Mingle together, form a whole
That's cracked and crumbled
Held together by hope and fear.
Searching across the stars
Alone, the last, a survivor
Weary soldier, pacifist, predator
Running from what can't be escaped
Tempests of guilt and loathing
Consume and set ever in motion.
Teetering on the edge of darkness
Destroyer, creator, remedy, cause
Absurdity and chaos
Raging fire around a heart of ice
A contradiction with boyish charm
Adrift across filaments of the universe.
Run. Run, you clever boy
Find what was never lost
What you need to hold the pieces
Relight the fires
Embrace the storm within
And set the cosmos ablaze.
