This is completely and utterly gorgeous and heartbreaking. I'm so flattered that my fic inspired something so beautiful. You've expressed it perfectly, all that vast wildness of the universe, all its strangeness and hugeness, and his overwhelming sense of loss.

I love that he imagines what she would think at the end and that makes him smile, and he holds that smile - because the only place she lives really is inside his memories of her.

Oh honey, what can I say that hasn't already been said? This is so beautiful and touching and so very heartbreaking but woven in a way that anyone who has lost can relate to. You've managed to encapsulate the bittersweet that is life in this gem of a story. Thank you for sharing.
