After a totally unproductive day I finally caught up on Fringe and watched First Class.
I have no idea what anyone else thought of the last few eps of Fringe, as I'm too lazy to try and find any opinions on it. Personally I loved them. Have to say one of the best moments was Lincoln and faux"liva giving birth. I just adored that scene and had a tear in my eye. I have been hugely in love with Lincoln since the first episode he was in, and just love him with Olivia. Actually over the last few episodes I have been more enamoured with Lincoln/Olivia than Peter/Olivia. I don't know how much Lincoln/Olivia we will get or what the writers will do with them, maybe I'm on another hopeless ship here, but nothing unusual there. I always seem to go for ships with little to no hope. Unfortunatley I seem to be a sadist when it comes to my fandom loves.
As for the final episode, it was interesting and I can't wait till next season to see what happens. The idea of merging the two universes is interesting and hopefully means we will get to see plenty more of the alternate!verse. As usual I loved Walter, he is one of my favourite charatcers on TV at the moment. I have no idea what to think of Peter dissappearing and the watchers saying they don't remember him. How is that going to work, are they somehow going to remeber him, is going to come back? As usual I'm completely out of touch with news about the show.
As for First class, I'll say firstly that I absolutely adored Charles and Eric, but as for the rest of the movie, I don't know, I think I was a little dissapointed. The rest of the mutants were a little forgettable from my point of view. I've always been a fan of Xmen, I really enjoyed the other movies, even Origins. I think I was mostly dissapointed with it due to how much I loved Charles and Eric. I just wish there had been more of them. It feels like they just sort of teased us with them before tearing them apart. I think the other mutants were also a little too young for me to feel any sort of connection with them. They just seemed to lack depth *shrugs*.
I did totally adore Charles/Eric. Obviously they were always going to have a tragic ending. I'm just a little sad that to me it seemed rushed. I would have loved to see them build more on the friendship. I will have to go find some fic I think to delve into their friendship/bond a little more as the movie has left me unsatisfied and I needs more.
My knowledge of xmen comes largely from the cartoon I watched as a kid and the movies, but from what I gather they way Xavier is paralysed is different from the comics? Either way I like how it was done in the movie, made the end of their friendship somehow more moving.
On a completely unrelated note, hubby and I have decided we just have to start a veggie garden, so of to look at excitable things like dirt and different types of beans...
