San Gil, X-treeme
A quick update:
So we are following the advice of " don't do anything dangerous!" as well as we followed the advice of "don't go to Columbia" and have spent the last few days doing extreme sports in Columbia. We rapelled down a 100-something meter waterfall, went into flooded caves where the only way to get from chamber to chamber is either slide over mud, army-crawl though horizontal cracks for long streches or swim underwater through tunnels, paraglided off mountains and lept off a different (smaller!) waterfall into the hopefully deep water below. Good times. We also ate the local delacacy: Ants. They have a salty charm. We caught an overnighter to the town of Santa Marta which is on the Caribbean Coast, tonight we drink rum and be pirates, tomorow we start a 6 day hike to see Ciudad Perdida, the great lost city of the Tairona. Back in a week!
