“Kaoru, I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”
“Shh! Be quiet Kenshin! If you talk too loud they’ll hear us.”
He stared at the marker in her hand as if the very presence of it would surely get them in trouble.
“But Kaoru, if we do get caught we could get in big trouble.”
She ignored his pleas and leaned across the desk. She knew that what they were doing could very well screw their social lives as they’d be spending most of their afternoons sitting in detention but Kamiya Kaoru was no chicken. She would do this damn dare even if she was caught in the act.
However, her friend Himura Kenshin had insisted she not do it. Yet being the stubborn girl she was, she duly pushed him aside to march into the office. It was his own fault for following her in. She was halfway through when they heard footsteps down the hallway.
“Kaoru! Hurry up! Somebody’s coming!”
Frantic she added the finishing touches quickly and ran out the door with Kenshin but stopped when they almost ran into a teacher.
“And what do you think you two are doing running in the hallway?”
“Sorry Tokioi-sensei but Kaoru and I are late for class. It was my fault. I asked her to come with me to the office to drop some papers off.”
She raised a skeptical eyebrow at the two before sighing and waving them through. The pair rushed past her as she herself went into the principal’s office. Kaoru and Kenshin walked further away, going around a corner before bursting with laughter.
“Oh my God! I can’t believe you actually lied to Tokio-sensei like that!”
He wiped a few tears of mirth.
“Well I can’t believe you actually went through that stupid dare!”
“Yeah I guess. But Kenshin?”
“Hmm?”
“Thanks.”
She smiled warmly at her redheaded friend to which he could only ‘oro!’ in reply. They continued walking when Kaoru froze, remembering a very certain detail of the dare.
“Oh no! Kenshin I forgot to take the picture!”
“Don’t worry about it Kaoru.”
“What do you mean don’t worry?! They won’t believe I did it unless I have a picture!”
“Mah! Mah! Calm down! I can tell them I saw you did it!”
She stopped and thought about it. The idea could definitely work. She shook her head and smiled again.
“Kenshin what will I ever do without you?”
“You’d probably be stuck in a lifetime of detention.”
She smacked him playfully. They were about to take another step when a yell shook the whole school coming from the office of Principal Hiko.
“MY FACE!! KAAOORRRUUUU!!! KEEENNSHHIIIN!!!!”
The two could only stare at each other before simultaneously shouting “RUN!” racing down the hallways laughing all the way together.
A/N: If youre wondering what the dare was, it was for Kaoru to doodle on the principal's face. lame i know but its all i got so give me some slack!
