Kaoru breathed the name with the fear evident in her eyes. Here was the man that had forced her to run for days straight on. Never could she find shelter, in fear that the family would meet their end by his hands. And one couple did sadly. For that she could never forgiver herself or that man. Suddenly, the fear turned to hatred as Kaoru clenched her fists tightly.
“Kamiya Kaoru, you have managed to escape me for weeks for which I admire but now you will die.”
From the scabbard hanging at his hip, Jin-e withdrew a gleaming katana. The sword screamed malice and lust for blood but valiantly she stood her ground.
“You will do wise to find a weapon Kamiya, that is if you want to live longer than a few bloody seconds.”
“I need no weapon to beat scum like you.”
The smile he showed sent shivers done her spine but she would not budge.
“Fine, it is your death. Be ready for your death Kamiya.”
In a flash, he leapt toward her swinging the sword for her neck. Kaoru saw his every movement with calculated eyes and twisted to move behind him. However he sidestepped to trip her sending her to the ground.
“Get up Kamiya. I have not been chasing you for weeks to let it end this quick. You will have the honor of dying a slow and painful death by my hand.”
Grunting, she managed to stand slightly. With desperation she gripped the sparking crystal for assistance. Her father had always protected her and had left the gift for a purpose. Though she hated to admit it, she could not defeat Jin-eh without a weapon. Clutching the crystal tighter she whispered her silent prayer.
Immediately the crystal flashed transforming as an answer to her prayer. Kaoru stared in awe at the crystallized sword gripped in her hand. The handle was worn and soft as if it had been used a great many times before. The blade shined of moonlight as the crystal had but seemed sharp as the wind. It was a sword of elements.
“Perfect. Now things will get interesting Kamiya. Prepare for your death Kamiya!”
“You underestimate me Jin-e. I will not be the one to die today. My father protects me even now and with his strength I will destroy you.”
Her magic chi flared at the emotions raging in her determination. The magic gently wove a tight shield around its wielder as the sword added more layers upon it. Kaoru calmed her breathing and slowly closed her eyes to find the magic within. For Jin-e’s death, she would inflict the pain of her family a thousand times worse. He would pay.
“You bore me with your justice talk Kamiya. I only live to kill and right now you are my prey!”
