Happy LJ-versary!
So, I've been on LJ for 10 years. It's so weird to think that. When I first joined, fandom had started moving this way. The fic I read was mostly on yahoo groups, and on sites. I joined because the pop fandom was moving here. I was so active on lj! All my friends were. I didn't really post fic until AI9, but I read - oh, how I read. And when HP fandom got on here? That's what I spent most of my fannish years and most of my 10 LJ years on.
I'm feeling nostalgic, especially as I move away from LJ and into newer mediums. I'm on tumblr, and twitter. I spend more time there. And my LJ has changed. It started heavily on the RPF, and now it's...oh wait. No, I kid! I still follow HP communities, because I'd miss it too much. But I have AI, and now Avengers.
I wonder how long I'll be on here.
For a real look back, my first post ever:
look, it's so pretty. and white. i'm gonna have to figure out how to make it purty. purty-ful. in the meantime though, i should do an icon. KATIE!!! come teach me. anything you want. katie is a good teacher. she's so smart. i'm just smart at bs-ing. not that she isn't. and not that i'm stupid. but katie is gonna teach me all kinds of fun stuff! (maybe she'll teach me that kind of fun stuff too? heh)
speaking of that...can i just say that i'm in love with several people? watched the grammy's last night. yum. craig david? hot. and the boys? hot hot hot hot hot. 5 hots, one for each of them. and nsync? hot hot hot hot hot. same thing there. dude, lance wore leather. and justin with curls? and jc in normal clothes. and kevin? short hair, yo. yum yum. lickable men. craig david included. and he dated willa too. why do guys i'm interested in date stupid people? boys. can't live with them, can't play without them!
but people i'm in love with. um. alicia keyes is cool. pretty and smart (she graduated at 16 from hs as valedictorian) and talented and she won so much! and india. arie is so damn cool. stupid u2 and "Oh Brother..." won instead of her. dumb voters. and britney! she and justin are equally lucky that they're with each other. so beautiful
so. there's my grammy commentary. i should do this for the site.
interesting day at work. i opened 75 of those damn binder paper clips. you know, the black ones that hold shit loads of material? yeah. my finger felt like it was gonna fall off. made me wish i was ambidexterous. i tried doing it left handed. made me realize i'm not that dexterous at all. then i got my other supervisor to give me a project so i wouldn't have to work on the stupid mailing some more. so she apologized for giving me shitty work again, but said she had more press A list work. yeah, cuz that sucks. um, hello, i now have the addresses for some of the best people in journalism. jim leher? have his office number. abc studios? been there, done that, met sam. and ted. which was wicked cool. star struck. totally. now i just need to meet diane sawyer and barbara walters, then hit stone phillips (that wannabe pierce brosnan, minus the accent) and try to de-perkify katie couric (hello, cheerleader-meets sorority sister-meets campus minister...ew) and then i'll be set. but anyway, press A list. found out the old intern who had my job is now at CBS working on The Early Show. so it's not top notch in terms of morning tv (nothing beats GMA) but dude. it's the Early Show. CBS. need a job like that.
have i de-flowered this enough? i think so. it's almost time for Friends anyway. joey tells rachel he loves her! woo!
