Tempe turned, a sad smile on her face and tears in her eyes. "Grandpa's gotten worse again. This might be the last time I'll get to see him."

She paused in her packing. "I'll be back, Sawyer. I'm not leaving for good. It's just a few weeks."

"I wish you could too," Tempe said, voice breaking a little. "It would be so much easier if I didn't have to do this alone."

She sat down on her bed, on top of the pile of clothes that had yet to be chucked into the suitcase, and wiped away the few tears that had managed to trickle down her face.

Leaving the doorway, Sawyer made his way over to sit by her side as she started to cry. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and kissed her temple. "No cryin', darlin'." Sawyer whispered into her ear. "I'll be sendin' you a gift then..so when you get there..You can atleast smile. For me." Nuzzling his nose against her cheek.

Tempe leaned into Sawyer, wrapping an around him and resting her head on his shoulder. She tried not to cry, but it was difficult not to.

"I'm going to miss you so much," Tempe said, sniffling. "Are you sure you couldn't climb into my suitcase and come with me?"

"I'd have to lose some limbs 'fore I could fit in that suitcase.." He chuckled down at her, his thumb wiping away her tears as he leaned in to give her a kiss. "There there. You better write me, you hear?" Tapping her nose.
