i fucking love my job.
well for the most part, hah
december is a little crazy because the guy who was hired to be scuba santa didn't pass his drug test so my friend Shaun is doing the scuba santa shows and the lab guy, Erik, is doing the swim with sharks. so i cover the lab an extra day this month. which is fine because i pretty much know what to do...i wouldn't say what i'm doing because i'm still a little wet behind the ears. but i know what to do most of the time.
it's just the pH meter is such a fuckwad. it takes FOREVER.
but the other 2 days I'm with Tony and Ashley. I hate following people around but soon enough i'll be on my own and doing stuff.
Yesterday I was with Tony. And I snorkeling pretty much all morning. I get my wetsuit on and get into the "Rainbow Reef" tank and scrub that for a good amount of time. there aren't any spanish hogfish in there anymore so nothing really bites you. we cleaned the jelly cylinder too, which was TOUGH since i'm so short. i had to get on my tiptoes and stand on the ledge while Tony told me where to scrub. I always feel weird around Tony. He seems like he thinks he's the coolest dude ever...so I feel pretty weird following him. He never makes eye contact with me either. Strange. He got a piece of a tentacle in his eye, so he did have to look at me eventually.
I clean a lot when i'm there.
Lunch is fun. I really like this guy, Hacker. He seems to be pretty funny and he kind of teases me, I like when people do that, it makes me think they like me. you know? if you get teased it means they like you and like you to talk to them...make sense? this other guy Dan always calls Hacker a bear. and makes like bear jokes about him. I guess because he's like this big dude. he's probably late 30s...he lives in PA. He told me that today while we were walking out. He also has never heard of the del mem bridge...and asked me if i've ever taken the comm barry bridge. like it was some secret.
i have a desk, a pager and my own email address. haha
i need to make my desk awesome.
