this past weekend was amazing. the weather was beautiful, the company was lovely, and sleep was lacking. i worked on friday until 10 then cailean and i came back to my place to prepare for the nascad dance. we managed to disguise his superstore uniform with a white sweatervest and a tie, which was pretty funny, it actually looked good though, he always has this "classiness" about him. we hung out, drank beer, and chatted for much too long (we both agreed that it seemed like 15 minutes when it had actually been two hours!). the long chats made us arrive quiet late for the dance where we met my highly inebriated friends, and caught some of the windom earle set. after cailean went home i go outside to meet my friends and my friend sera ended up laying in the nascad courtyard puking. it was aweful! we didn't know what to do, no cabs would take us because she was so sick ( i can't really blame them) and there was noway we could carry her home. we managed to borrow scotts car and called sera's roomate who wasn't drinking to drive it and her home. after that fiasco, emily, caitlyn, dave, levon, and i walked to our house where we continued to drink beer, wear sunglasses, and laugh alot. those boys are HILARIOUS! dave and levon crashed on our pullout and we had plans to go to the market in the morning but they fell through so we ended up going to the pyramid cafe which was delicious (as always) where we were probably too loud and having too much fun. after that we went to dave, levon, matt, and brett's house where the laughter continued. some quotes that i want to remember:
dave - "my favorite part was when caitlyn kept slapping her in the face. i wonder if she would shake a baby that was crying"
levon - "his name is mitch, but i call him m-fag"
oh yeah, dave and matt have a radio vegan baking show called "Let's Get Baked With Matt and Dave", which conviently has a myspace (along with a actual site and a podcast site) here is the myspace address if any of you folk want to check it out
http://www.myspace.com/letsgetbakedwithmatanddave after our daytime hangouts emily and i walked down to stage nine to buy my hidden cameras ticket, to my dismay there was a sign on the door that read "sold out". i went inside to ask someone about tickets at the door, as they were supposed to have some, and he said that they no longer had door tickets. however, he said that he was working the door that night and as long as i didn't show up with a huge crew of ticketless folk then he would let me in. this seemed insanely nice and much too easy, so i was a little sketchy about the situation, there was nothing else i could do though, so i thought i would give it a try. sure enough, i show up to the show and i got into the sold out show for free!! thanks to my new friend scott at stage nine.i bought my final fantasy ticket immediately after this, as i did not want a repeat of the situation because i figured i wouldn't be as lucky next time. the show was fantastic!! the opening band "spiral beach" were quiet good, i would definitly go see them again, and they even had snow globes for merch, how cute! i couldn't beleive how tight they were for a band that looked to be about 16, they must have been at least 19, but i was still impressed. the hidden cameras set was fabulous. halfway through the set shaun scott started a dancing mostly non-violent mosh pit and i was definitly all about it, lots of pushing, dancing, laughing, sweating, and a crowd surfing kevin liaonsis. it was one of the best shows i have been to in a LONG time, which says alot, because i have been to quiet a few good shows as of late, it just seemed to have everything going for it. after the show we weren't tired, so we decided to wander until we found something to do. we ended up at freeman's for some pizza and chatting. after we left freeman's april, emily, shaun scott, and i ended up standing outside and chatting for over an hour. people were up doing their MORNING jog before we even went home, rediculous.
i had to work the next afternoon, which sucked, as it was insanely busy since we were closed on saturday. however, at the end of my shift emily, sera, shaun scott, and april show up and are trying to spell out "PIE" in the window with their bodies. they finally got my attention and got the idea across to me that they wanted me to pick them up a pie, as the doors to the store were now locked. so i am running through the store trying to buy this pie before the final checkout closes, feeling much like i am on supermarket sweep, but i made it! strawberry rhubarb it was! apparently, their plan was to get there in time to go through my checkout and see if i wanted to hang out. however, i think this way was much more entertaining. we took the pie to one world cafe where we cut it into right pieces, "octapie", ate it and confused poor mike (the boy working there), with my reference to fights in a ham, which was a reference to shaun scotts hallowe'en costume of scout from "to kill a mocking bird" when she dressed up as a ham, we all thought the reference was hilarious and the fact that mike was trying to make sense of it even more hilarious, "fight in...hamilton?", "fights in a...hammock?". when we explained it to him, he didn't think it was quiet as funny as we did, i guess he had to be there. after one world we bought the fixings to make rootbeer floats, which we brought to shauns house. before we actually made the rootbeer floats however, we played four square, and his neighbor even joined in. it was quiet enjoyable. after the pie, four square, and rootbeer floats we tried to watch this documentary "dark days", it was my idea as i have been wanting to see it forever, but emily and i just couldn't stay awake, so we decided to venture home for some much needed rest.
my weekend was so awesome that i kept thinking that i was going to run into some horrible luck the whole time because...let's face it, i'm just not THAT lucky. emily keeps reassuring me that it's just good karma because of the shitty things that have been happening to me lately; blowout fight with a good friend (alcohol and emotions DON'T mix), losing my wallet, disaster zone at the DMV, losing money at the nascad hallowe'en party. all of this i don't want to talk about as it is now in the past and life has been good as of late. if only the stupid fight could be over, or not have even happened, i would be on cloud 9. i'm actually not as upset about it as i thought i would be. sometimes i think it happened for a reason and it's obviously not hindering my fun. however, we get along so well and have such great conversational chemistry that i hope it's just a small bump in the road. gah, i hate fighting with friends! things are mostly positive though!
sorry for the book,
