Disclaimer: This never happened ):
Notes: third Panic! fic. Ryan is a cute chibi-pet (:
POV: Bden -- 2nd Person.
1. Beginnings; All things have beginnings, whether good or bad, right or wrong, dark or light. Some people are just lucky enough to start their story with their best friends by their sides, while others are stuck searching for them.
2. Lightning; Great flashes of light leave him breathless and waiting for the storm to pass. It isn’t until you finally pull him into your arms and whisper quieting words that he settles down. If it stayed like this, you wouldn’t mind if the storm lasted forever.
3. Seduction; It’s confusing as hell when you’re getting mixed signals and fleeting glances. But really, it doesn’t matter, because no matter what he says or does, he already has you on your knees.
4. Christmas; You don’t get breaks on Christmas; you’re still going and going and signing autographs that will eventually be late presents. But the two of you still find the time to sit down together and exchange gifts and drink red bull instead of eggnog because who needs that stuff, anyway, when you could have wings?
5. Drink; It’s only after three or four cans of Red Bull, when the fans are finally gone and the world is quiet, that you settle down and slip your arm around his shoulders and grin, because he’s too worn out to care.
6. Denial; There are a few times that the two of you are so tired that you fall asleep sitting next to each other, tangled limbs and mingling breaths present. When you wake up as he untangles himself, blushing, he hides his face and denies said blush exists.
7. Confession; He’s scribbling words and drawing signs and testing lyrics as he fills paper with ink. You wonder what he’s doing, so you go to find out. You realize your mistake a bit later than you should have, because now you see it’s your name on paper and not lyrics. It takes you a few days to confess to yourself that, no, you really weren’t expecting that.
8. Life; Things have changed drastically in an incredibly small amount of time. You’ve gained fans and lost friends, but life is great because he is still here.
9. Choices; He glances between the two options, almost worried, and when he chooses A over B, you know that plan C is forming and he’ll be back by the end of the night.
10. Him; You’re worried when the attention that should be yours (you’re a bit jealous, no?) belongs to him. But your worrying is for nothing because, like you hoped, he’s back by the end of the night and apologizing. He was just a fan.
11. Death; It’s not an easy subject between the two of you, especially because of what happened with his dad. But the subject has one good quality: it always ends your night in good memories and reassuring smiles.
12. Lunch; It’s not very often the four of you get to go out to lunch together - alone, with no screaming fans. So when you do, you’re not surprised when he sits back and smiles and starts talking about future lyrics, but you are dumbfounded to find that you have no smart remarks to make this time.
13. Home; It’s good to be in your own house and your own bed. Those are places you rarely get to be nowadays, but you still can’t help but feel lonely when you realize that knocking on the wall won’t get you a knock in return.
14. Lost; You have a dream - a memory from when you were kids. As you play hide and seek in that dream of yours, you realize that you felt scared when you couldn’t find him, and that maybe you were blind to your feelings a lot longer than you thought.
15. Make Up; None of you fight a lot - aside from the few times you disagree on good or bad music. Because of that, naturally, saying sorry was never a strong spot with you. So you settle for a squeeze to his hand and a breathtaking smile and hope he gets the message.
16. Missing; They’re probably looking for you and they’re probably going crazy because they can’t find you. You’re such a coward, hiding in a broom closet just so you can think things over. Of course, no one can really blame you because you’re only doing this so you don’t lose control and actually kiss him during tonight’s show.
17. Redemption; He’s mad at you again for that stunt you pulled. But he can’t stay mad at you because you’ve got a show to do. You realize your punishment when he doesn’t pull away fast enough (on ‘accident’) and your lips crash onto his. The audience gasps and so do you, but that glint in his eyes tells you that you’re now forgiven, because that was a really nice kiss, thank you very much.
18. Anger; The two of you have accomplished the unreachable. You’ve made Spencer mad. How? Long story. All you know is that it’s terribly hard to run while laughing and holding hands. But you won’t escape his wrath that easily.
19. Sex; You tell yourselves that it only happened because of the alcohol. You tell yourselves it would have never happened without the blurred minds and slurring speech. But, really, you know you’re lying to yourself when he shows up at your room that night, looking desperate and hoping for little more than he should’ve asked for.
20. Epiphany; He shows up at your door and asks if he can come in. You wonder why he’s even asking. But after an awkward moment of silence, his lips are on yours and you finally understand. It’s about fucking time!
21. Summer; You remember summers from the past; building sand castles at the beach and making fireworks and tackling each other after being apart for two whole days. Now, you don’t have to worry about building castles because you’ve already got one and you don’t have to worry about fireworks or tackling games because that’s what curling up in front of the TV on July Fourth is for, right? It makes it that much easier to kiss under the fireworks.
22. Snow; You decide that fake snow isn’t special at all, because really it’s just shaved ice from some guy’s freezer. But for a split second when you’re pulled away to make snow angels, snow if perfectly fine no matter where it comes from.
23. Food; Feeding the four of you is like feeding an army. You eat and eat and eat, not because you’re hungry, but just because you could sit and talk for ages. Eric finally found a way to get you guys away from the table, though. His new pet scorpion is a great room-clearer.
24. Taste; His favorite food in the world is chocolate cake. He could eat it for days. Actually, he could probably live off of it. Your favorite food? Strawberries, you suppose. That is, until you get a taste of chocolate covered strawberries when you kiss him, mingling tongues creating your now-favorite flavor.
25. Too Much; You love his smile and his pout and his voice and his laugh. You love when he denies your kiss and you love it even more when he doesn’t. But, really, his lips on your neck are just too much.
26. If; You tell him you’ll stay forever and a day. You tell him you’ll be by his side forever and that whenever he needs you, you’ll be there. You tell him you’re forever his, if he says he’ll stay too.
27. And; People have started to notice that the two of you are closer than before; your secret smiles aren’t so secret and you’re fighting less like best friends and more like an old married couple. Now, it’s no longer ‘ryan and brendon’ but ‘ryanandbrendon’.
28. Mask; There are times when you have to hide your feelings from people or each other. Mostly when there are lots of fans around or you’re home with your parents or when people make rude remarks that cut a little too deep. But you can see through the mask he puts on and those secret smiles are well hidden behind that werewolf face he decided to put on for today.
29. Accident; You didn’t mean to let it slip and he didn’t mean to let you. But you’re both relieved when your mom puts her hands on her hips, tilts her head, and exclaims, “Well, it’s about time!”
30. Classmates; Everyone treats you just a little differently now, but you’re not the only ones. The whole family is treated differently. From cousins and aunts to moms and sisters. But, really, what more can you ask for? It’s not every day someone’s entire group of friends is dubbed ‘the new royal family’.
31. Parents; Those times when you’re home and with your family have turned out to be the hardest. You fear being caught when you sneak out (even though, really, you shouldn’t need to) to see him, but when your mom says “be back by sunrise,” you’re nothing but grateful.
32. Birth; Your first night back on tour and you’re exhausted. He’s leaning on you and trying to keep his eyes open, but then again, so are you. He stretches and mumbles something and goes to stand up, but you grab his wrist and pull him back down and tell him to stay. So he does, and that is the birth of a new era between the two of you.
33. Humor; You’re at an interview with Ryan and Spencer and Jon when the host tells a joke that you once told at an interview. You glance at Ryan and your eyes lock as he glances back. You snicker and suddenly everyone’s staring. You finally break away from that gaze, only to find everyone laughing at you. Seriously, it wasn’t that funny.
34. Shattered; You’re walking down the hall of the hotel one day when you turn a corner and find Spencer holding Ryan against a wall and whispering in his ear. Your eyes meet Ryan’s and suddenly, your heart’s shattered all over the floor.
35. Break Up; He chases after you, worried what you might think. He tries to explain, so you listen. But you don’t really care. It’s your first night alone in a while - as long as you can remember - but really, he’s right outside your door all night so you’re not alone at all. But by morning you’ve forgiven him because you can’t help it. It wasn’t even something that needed to be forgiven. Jon called your cell and told you the story and now you feel like an ass, because Ryan has your heart in his hand and it’s not shattered at all.
36. Kink; You have the night of your life and by morning you’re amazed at how many things you can gain from reading Cosmo. Jon and Spencer have to agree, along with quite a few other hotel guests who also heard your adventure.
37. Dream; Sometimes you wake up and if the light is just right, his face seems to glow and it’s beautiful. You usually end up pinching yourself to make sure you’re not still dreaming, because if you are, you’re going to be pissed.
38. Discovery; It’s not every day you find out something new about each other. But when he mumbles those three little words and you discover that he feels the same way, it’s as if the millennium is here already.
39. Jealousy; When he gets too close to someone who isn’t you, or when he smiles too brightly or when his lips twitch in that way they do when you get too close, you get jealous and you hate it. You know you shouldn’t, but you just care for him that much that you just want him yours and only yours.
40. Fall; You wonder sometimes if he’d sacrifice for you. You’d sacrifice for him, that’s for sure. You wonder if he’d fall to catch you; fall for you. You know you’ve already fallen for him.
41. Angst; When Jon walks in on the two of you, on top of each other, limbs tangled with lips wherever they can reach, he facepalms and announces, “Thanks to you two, I’m going to go angst in a corner now.”
42. Rain; You find him standing in the rain, face towards the sky with eyes closed and a smile of his face. He’s grinning and as he throws his arms out, ready to spin or yell or something, you catch his hands and ask, “Do you want to dance?”
43. Hours; For hours, you just lie with each other, happy just being together. Hands roam and lips tease, lazy and nothing more. He whispers lyrics to you that have more meanings than just ‘future song’ and you whisper words to him that add more meaning than ever to the blushing faces and cocky grins.
44. Lovers; You revel in the time that people begin to call you as so. It makes you grin and it makes you jumpy and happier than ever before because neither of you have denied it, and neither of you plan on doing so.
45. Threesome; It’s another time that Jon walks in on you and makes a remark that has Ryan blushing and ready to walk away. But you happen to know how to fix this, so you lean in and whisper, “He’s just upset because we don’t do threesomes.”
46. Lies; You used to wonder about those words that were whispered into the dark air as lips pressed on skin and backs arched and fingers roamed. But now, what you thought was a lie is now reality so you question other things, like whether or not there’s chocolate cake and strawberries in the cooler.
47. Sunset; The two of you sit outside and watch the sunset, him in your lap with your chin on his shoulder. He leans back and buries his face in your neck just as the sun disappears. He whispers those words again, and you decide not to move for a little while longer.
48. Sunrise; You stay a little longer than planned; you decide it would be a good idea to go inside and get into bed just as the sun comes back up. You didn’t know how long the nights could be, but you wouldn’t have it any other way, especially if it means more time alone with this cuddling ball of lyrics.
49. Last; The lights flash and the crowd screams as you get ready for another show. A few more seconds and it’s time to go on - to do what you do best. He gives you one last glance and one last smile before you take over the stage and get the crowd screaming louder than ever before.
50. End; You glance at him during the show and he’s grinning and happier than you’ve seen him since -well, this morning actually. But it’s great to see him like this, anyway. And as you perform that routine kiss for the screaming fangirls, you hope this never ends.
& FIN.
