Chicago

Well, I'm a bit late, but it's all good

For V-day I took Staci to see Chicago, the musical, at the Fisher Theatre. Well...not techincally V-day, I 'gave' her the tickets for v-day, but the tickets were for saturday (last night).

It was a pretty good show. the storyline was identical to the movie (to be expected of course, but usually some variation). There were more songs, and better singers of course.

Best thing about it though, is it had a whole lot more humor in it. Seriously, was one of the funniest shows i've seen, for example, there's a reporter in the show, who is a large woman....and during one of the songs, a lawyer sings "Not everything is as it seems" and ripped a wig off the large woman to reveal it was a bald man, so the man ripped off the dressed to reveal his huge belly in a wife beater and suspenders to his boxer's and started talking in a huge deep voice....honestly...hilarious

only complaints: Same backdrop the whole show, The band was ON-STAGE, facing the audience on a big stage thing, it was cool and all, because the characters would interact with the band, and the maestro, but the fact that it NEVER changed was weird. Also, all the extras were the same 5 or 6 people who never changed costuming, for example - the judge was the same guy as the cop who was the same guy as a background dancer who was the same guy as one of the husbands who got murdered...but never ever changed out of his black pants and a see-through skin-tight vest.

Oh well, it was funny none-the-less

Later Folks (for whoever still even reads this)
