Christianity is not an intellectual suicide. seriously.
many atheists seem to say, "well, believe in what you want to believe, and i'll believe in whatever i want," or "i have no morals so don't bother me." they deny that there exists an absolute moral truth. so if i apply their statement into history or society today, then because hitler believed

In any case - that wasn't my point. My point was, many of the misconceptions of Christianity is that we obey only the laws of the book, and only the strict set of rules. When really, the Bible is just this incredible guidebook. And I dislike it when people say, "Well - the Bible - that wasn't written by God - so it's bullshit." I think - "Well, if you're not Christian, what do you care if it was written by God or not?" It's got advice for many common dilemmas, and like fat_heidi said in her original post, they're part of what's in everyone - do not kill, do not rape, do not rob, etc, as well as the more specific things that we do wrong that aren't necesarily in the ten commandments...
In any case, one of the many things that the Bible says is that although a man may not know God - and he still follow's God's law (even if he doesn't know he's following God's law), he's still a good man. For example, asherkun, you're probably a good person - at least in that you're not a serial killer, or probably not particularly mischevious, and probably do random acts of kindness, every once in a while. Even if it's just for your family and friends. I think that's really what being a 'true Christian' is, even if you live in China and don't even have any idea that Christianity exists. Just being a good person.
Another thing said in the Bible, and I'm paraphrasing, was something about how - if the man believed eating pork was wrong, and he didn't eat pork, that was good. And if the man believed that eating pork was not bad, and he ate pork, that was OK. That if a man follows his own way - then that's a good man, if he doesn't sin against those things that he considers a sin.
Now, I think that with that, it would have been assumed that th ings like murder and rape were wrong... Yeah.
(By the way, a good hearty thanks fat_heidi, although I'm supporting your views, I'd never looked at the inner morals that everybody has, even non-Christians, as the force of God, although it is obvious to me now that it must be.)
