Jim had kept quiet over the weekend. It wasn't that he didn't want to meet new people, he just didn't want to have to get introduced to all of those names en masse. Yes, it was a French word. He was taking a French class this semester. This was his introduction to foreign languages.

Yeah, he was pretty much screwed with that.

Pam was bored. There was only so many times you could rearrange your furniture to make up for a new lack of roommate. Hence, Pam wandered down the hall and knocked on Jim's door.

"Come iiiiiiiin," Jim said.

"Hiiiiiii," Pam drawled, letting herself in. "I'm bored."

[fat_halpert]

"I'm Jim," Jim responded, putting some random sports magazine that I'm too lazy to choose down. "I understand that you'd like something to entertain you, Bored."

"I would, and also, Halpert, you are better than jokes like that," she told him, leaning against his door. "Tsk."

[fat_halpert]

"I hereby submit that I am not better than jokes like that. They're cheap, easy, and fun," Jim said. "Come in, close the door. I'm sure I can think of something to entertain you."

"Oh, but you are," she replied, closing the door and wandering over to him. "Because they're lame, and you, as a general rule, are not."

"My own personal awesomeness makes them less lame," Jim countered. "It's like magic."

"No, but kind of adorable in a lame way," she acquiesced.

"That's a kind of magic, too," Jim said. "Same thing as pulling a quarter out of your ear."

'I'll argue that it's different, but okay," she replied, leaning over and kissing his cheek. "So what've you been doing today?"

"Reading," Jim said, patting the sports-type magazine. "And preparing for classes, actually."

Pam raised her brows. "Steaming your suit and looking up creative new paper airplanes?"

"Reading up on some mythology on Wikipedia," Jim said. "I want to make sure I'm actually ready for that class tomorrow."

Pam stared at him, a smile slowly forming. "You're taking real classes?"

"If Mythology and French count as real," Jim said. "I mean, they aren't about America or anything, so officially they might not count."
