On a Quest For The Cup, And We're Ready To Win
The Coolest Update on Earth.
FINNALLY! It’s time to DROP THE PUCK! Hockey season officially kicks off today. After a year of bullshit and cap vs no cap, it’s time for the Coolest game on Earth. I broke down and bought the NHL Center Ice package with Direct TV so I can watch the games over here, especially the Lightning games. They just showed the raising of the Stanley Cup Banner. It was beautiful. So don your mullet and raise a LeBatt’s Blue, because HOCKEY IS BACK!!!
This past weekend I went to my seventh NACA conference. This conference was extra special for me because this was the South region where I began. It felt different this time around too, for it was my first NACA as a professional. So I had to be the one to say to my students “Make sure you’re at your ed sessions” and “make sure you’re at the showcases”. The fact that I’m in a professional position hits me in small doses. This was one of those doses. I got to see a lot of my old friends from the region as well like Justin and Krista. I even met some other new professionals in the region as well. I spent a lot of time making connections and seeing what everyone else has been up to. I met a lot of great people and a lot of lovely ladies. The acts which showcased were pretty good. Four of the members of VH1’s Best Week Ever came and did some comedy as well. Omerosa from the Apprentice was there too. She was freaken worthless. I got to see some of my comedian buddies that I’ve worked with in the past perform like Kyle Cease. The one thing that hit me though is I’ve started to notice the regulars who perform at NACA. Of course, when the students recycle every four years, the acts are new to them. I’m planning on taking my involvement with NACA further at the next regional conference. I want to get involved with the leadership team and apply for a coordinator position. Yeah, that would be cool.
Ok I’m keeping this short because I want to watch the game. GO LIGHTNING!!
