I need book suggestions. I'm going to be taking a break from the world wide web and information for prolly a week to reboot and think through a few philosophical writings I'm working on. This includes listening to music instead of talk radio. There's another reason too, but that's top secret.
So, varied friends of mine, recommend a book or two you think I should read. Feel free to say why it seems to be a good fit.
About my reading habits:
Almost everything I read is non-fiction. I end up reading theory and true crime and biographies of people that escaped the gulags. Any fiction I read is either by Chuck Palahniuk or Bret Easton Ellis, or is realistic in the treatment of its subject, like historical fiction "Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrel." I want something fun. I hate Mark Twain and Tennessee Williams and the Victorian era novels.
Please help!
