There is a city by the sea, a gentle colony....

So Greece is amazing. I've been here for almost three weeks now. At first everything was so overwhelming because we (my group) got to see a lot of things within the first couple of days. The first couple of days were spent in Athens in which we toured the Acropolis which is home to the Parthenon, then Ancient Agora, the Temple of Zeus, and the Archeological Musuem in Athens. After that we took like a 5 day tour of Delphi, and Meteora, and Mt. Olympus which was pretty cool. There's so much history here that it's just so overwhelming. It sucked that I was jet lagged during that entire first week, because it would have been much more enjoyable although I still enjoyed myself.

I got to go to a couple of the smaller/less popular Greek islands which was a sight to see. We took a day cruise and got to cruise three islands one in whihc we got to jump of rocks into the Aegean Sea. The water was so salty that you literally just floated. It was so nice.

Now we're in Thessaloniki, which is about 7 hours north of Athens. We've been here for a week and half doing the actual school work of this study abroad. The load hasn't been bad at all. Four hours of class in the morning, then 2-3 hours of excursions afterwards, and then the nights are free. There's been a lot of partying going on, which is to be expected. Before I came here I hardly ever drank or smoked cigarettes, and now I have a new found drinking tolerance and I've been buying packs of cigarettes like it's my job. Hopefully I can break that habit by the time I get home.

Speaking of home, I miss it tremendously. I think it all has to do with being apart from Peter which is really cheesy, but it's hard being in this beautiful/romantic place and seeing everyone else with their significants. I'll be home in a week and a half though, so not too much longer.

I'm still bummed about missin Hanson, but it's whatev. When I get back I have Harry Potter things to look forward to. I think I may hold out on buying the book til I get home cuz it will prob be cheaper, and the movie doesn't come out here in Greece until August so I have to wait til I get back to the states. I'm excited.
