it's been a while...
let's see...i left off the weekend before exams. so i have a lot of ground to cover! guess i'd better get started.
sunday 12/12- not much happened that i can remember. then again it was two weeks ago, but i'm pretty sure i just sat around all day being annoyed by my niece and nephew whome i love to pieces but who can try my patience at times.
monday 12/13- first day of exams. i didn't have one but i still went to the college to study and do my geography work, but before i got started i met up with shawna and we were bored so we went outside and made a miniature snowperson. twas fun! then i went to the library. before i had left my house i had left an away message on AIM for people to bother me and for the first time ever people did what i said to do. lol. cuz sam came and met me for lunch which she treated for at the HAC. it was splendid and we got to catch up since we hadn't seen each other in a while cuz i was busy with the play and she didn't feel like coming to class or class had been cancelled, etc... so good times. then i went back to the library and found that jenny had texted me and so i found her in the basement section studying her biology. so we talked and did our work and it was fun. then we left and on my way out i met up with katie and we went to denny's, then to the mall, then back to denny's and then to april's house. april is one of katie's friends. we were at her house until about 1 or 2am i'm not sure now but we had fun. i got to design a dress that april wanted for a party on that saturday. so that made it worthwhile for me especially since i'll be paid for it and i love to sew and any reason for me to sew is good enough for me. on another note...my parent's probably think i have some sort of double life on monday nights because for two weeks in a row i didn't come home until 2 in the morning which is unlike me, but nothing was said so i'm sure they're not worried. not that there's anything to worry about.
tuesday 12/14- i had my drawing "exam" i quote that because it wasn't really an exam. all we had to do was matte several of our pieces of art that we had done this semester. so that was easy. then i had a break and so i went home. after that i went back to the college for my michigan history exam. i aced it and the class. oh, i shaved my beard off that day too! how sad! it took a while to get used to but i like it now.
wednesday 12/15- i studied in the morning to my recollection but i could be wrong and then at 1pm i had my geography exam. i was done with that about 2 and i was feeling rather good about it. as i was leaving i ran into kathy ruby and i stayed and chatted with her for quite a while. then i had to go take my grandma dolly shopping! oh joy! we all know how i love that, but it actually wasn't that bad this time and she didn't take too long. after that i took her home and then i went home. i was chillin' like a villain for a while but then i called breanna and left a message at her house to see if she wanted to do something that night. she called me back around 6 maybe and we talked for a little while and we decided to meet up at 7 at hillside wesleyan church for their christmas youth service. it was funny. they did a blue collar christmas and it was fun but still had a message. i liked it. it reminded me a lot of what colonial woods was like when i went there when i was younger. after church we went to denny's and of course (as it always happens) a bunch of other people we knew were there (of course people from the play) and so we barely got two seconds to have our own conversation which i wasn't too happy about but i still had fun. the first person to bother us was steve and he talked about stuff and it was okay conversation, but then brenden and his friends showed up and invited bre and i to join them at their table which we accepted because we were a little too close to the smoking section. that's when the conversation got better. we talked of the play of course but then it moved on to other things and i did get to know more about breanna through our conversation with others so the night wasn't a total bust. which was nice. we left around 11pm i think and then we went to our respective homes.
thursday 12/16- i got up around 7am! what a shock that was! (now i haven't been able to get up later than 7:30 since!) i did so to go and help out in my sister's 4th grade classroom all day. it was fun! and nice to have something to do all day. her classroom loves me although i don't know why cuz i never say anything nor am i particularly nice to them, but i'm not mean either i'm just indifferent. nonetheless, they love me. after the regular school day she teaches at the after school program at roosevelt elementary and on that day they were going to see "The Polar Express" and peggy invited me to go along...her treat! well how could i refuse. i'll take anything free. lol. i'm so scotch! the movie was really good. i enjoyed it. afterwards we went home and i don't know what transpired afterwards. i think i probably just sat around all night.
friday 12/17- i got up early and was going to go help out in my sister's classroom again all day but then i remembered that i had to take my grandma to get her hair done so i wasn't able to, but you should have heard those kids when i went in to tell peggy that i probably wouldn't be there because of our grandma after i had helped my mom in her classroom for a little bit. those kids were so happy to see me. you would have thought it was santa claus or something. kinda freaky but still cool in a way. so i took grandma to the hair salon and i had to work on the dress for april. actually i had to start it because i hadn't yet. talk about cutting it close since she needed it for saturday. what can i say...i'm a procrastinator but i work well under pressure. probably better! anyways, so while my grandma was at the hair salon i had enough time to cut the pattern out. then i picked her up and did her bidding for a little while and after that i took her home and went back to the college to sew the dress. since my machine was there and i didn't feel like dragging it home i had to finish it that day and i only had until six to finish. i didn't get started until 3! so you can imagine i was a bit stressed but not as much as i might have been. to the surprise of some i got out of there by 5:54pm! 6 minutes to spare with everything done that could be until i could fit it on her. i was quite proud and it wasn't sloppy at all. i did it exactly the way lisa would have enforced it be done had it been a costume. the ironing could have been better but velvet is hard to iron. i then called april and met her at her house at 7 to do the fitting. i got all of that done in an hour so for a grand total it took me 7 hours to make the dress from start to finish. pretty excellent if you ask me. especially since it was not only velvet which requires special tools but because it was stretch velvet and i had never worked with stretch before or had had limited experience with it you might say. so after it was fitted we talked for a while and i went home. i don't recall doing anything else that evening.
saturday 12/18- i went shopping all day with my mom and then we went to a christmas party at our friend kathryn's house who is a colleague of my mom and my sister. myself, peggy, my dad and mom were there plus kathryn and her boyfriend greg, his parents pete and sharon, missy and her boyfriend, john and michelle (kathryn's best friend) katie joseph and her husband, anne (kathryn's sister), one of greg's friends, and i might be forgetting someone but i don't think so not that anyone who reads this journal knows any of these people but who cares. peggy and i were there until 2:30 and our parent's stayed until 3. they were the last guests to leave.
sunday 12/19- i can't remember. i think peggy and i went shopping. but it's amazing how much crap i can remember from the whole week before and i can't remember a thing from today except that we were supposed to make cookies with my grandma that day but she couldn't because she had a prior engagement.
monday 12/20- not much happened besides making cookies with my grandma (it was fun as always.) and i think peggy and i made coconut flavored meringue kisses and we went out with colleen, but i could be wrong. if this was the day then we went to big boy with colleen and heard tell of some hilarious situations involving her and carly. it was good times!
tuesday 12/21- again i can't really remember. i guess it wasn't important enough to remember. but there was so much to look forward to at the end of the week that i think everything else was dismal in comparison.
wednesday 12/22- i think i walked around the mall for a while. probably shopped with peggy most of the day. i don't know. i do know at 7 i met tabitha, her boyfriend devin, jenny and her friend tiffany at the raven and we hung out for a while. it broke up around 8 and i went to the mall to walk around again. and ran into jenny and tiffany again. i also ran into kaitilin and made plans with breanna over the telephone to go shopping sometime over break for art supplies etc. she also invited me to go to church service with her on christmas eve which i told her i had to find out what was going on first and then i could let her know. after that i went home.
thursday 12/23- i didn't do anything really besides stay at home because of the snow. we cleaned house and i helped my sister babysit for a while at the neighbor's house. after that i braved the storm and went to christine's house. we had hot chocolate and exchanged gifts. i gave her a coat which she adored and she gave me part of my present which was a clothing pattern. (which i can always use) in fact i think it would be perfect for the next play. at least part of the pattern. then we talked until maybe 10:45 and then i had to get home cuz my parents wanted me home before they went to sleep.
friday 12/24- i helped my mom wrap presents for the majority of the day. i believe i went up to the mall and also to the post office. then i went out with breanna and her family to the church service at 7. it was really good and felt like old times when my family used to go to church on christmas eve. after that i met up with my sister and little brother and we went looking at lights for a little while and then we met up with our older brother at denny's. we all had something to eat and then we headed home. i went to sleep pretty much upon arrival.
yesterday, saturday 12/25- we had a late start yesterday compared to other years. we usually get up at 6 but didn't until aroun 8:30 this year. i was determined to have photos of me on christmas in which i didn't look like crap so i got dressed casually and thought i looked fine but later on in the day i looked in the mirror and noticed my hair had fallen and i still looked like crap. oh well! tis not important. i guess that shows how vain i've become. lol. i do think that song is about me! lol. not really. anyways...christmas was excellent. we had breakfast and opened presents. from my parents i recieved: catchphrase, an armature, socks, a zip up fleece hoodie, king arthur on dvd, white squall on dvd, a paper artwork portfolio, and the best present of all...A NEW SEWING MACHINE!!!! and supplies. woohoo! i was and am so excited! i don't believe i got anything from matt but didn't really expect anything. peggy got me some candles and candleholders, a giftcard to joann fabrics, oh yeah and another catchphrase so i'll have to return one. jean-luc got me movie gift certificates and a pack of gum. my grandma got me a plush hippopotamus because i mentioned i liked the song "i want a hippopotamus for christmas" i thought it was cute, she also bought me some art supplies and cologne. my other grandparents bought me some more art supplies and an art supply box so i don't have to keep stuff in my backpack anymore. i think that's it not to say that it wasn't enough cuz i know how many people would have loved to get one of the things i got, but it was a very good christmas. oh and as a family we got a game for the gamecube called donkey konga which has to do with rhythym etc...it rocks my socks off! ow! ow! lol.
today, sunday 12/26- today i've been at home all day. just kinda been out of it. it feels like a weekday to me cuz i was going to go mail something but alas it's sunday. anyways...that's pretty much it. i've been restless all day really wanting to do something but not knowing what. at least i've kept occupied with this for a while. now i think i'll watch a movie. so...until next time.
