I was walking outside in the beautiful October evening; the moon, not quite full, a white pure sphere on the saturated blueness of the almost-night sky. I turned behind me to the fading sun, kissing the mountains with pastel cloud streaks as it sank away. An orange-yellow-green-blue twilight is absorbed by the expanding indigo of the clear evening. I sigh, knowing I will spend the best part of this sunset indoors, sitting at a computer and wishing that no one comes in to be tutored. It’s rather frustrating. I can’t even open the window to let in the October with the smell of November close on it heels. A large bee, in a dying desperate attempt, beats its head against the fluorescent lighting. I know how he feels.
