I reviewed 'Sacred Hearts' earlier this week, and as I was hopping around the Internet I found this book trailer to go with it. Posted for your watching pleasure:
The books have no connection to each other that I've figured out, so I'm not sure why they're marketing it as a trilogy. I think what they mean when they say that is its the third (and final?) book Dunant has written that took place in Renaissance Italy, after In the Company of the Courtesan and The Birth of Venus.
Aha. Marketing ploy rather than a trilogy. *irritated* Well that is good news for the book, not so much good news for the intelligence of the marketing & advertising divisions of the publishing company.
I was confused by the trilogy aspect too. I went out and bought Birth of Venus because I really wanted to read Sacred Hearts. It does seem like a trick, doesn't it? I probably would have wanted to read the other 2 books after Sacred Hearts (if I enjoyed the book) but don't like the idea of having to read the 2 books before this one (especially if they are not connected).
Anyway, I love book trailers, her website had a whole set of how she came to write the book and what the time period means to her. They are great and you can see all of them here:

Anyway Sacred Hearts is the last in a Trilogy? If so does one need to read the first two to get the most out of this one?
