Love him! I only recall reading a few of his things in high school (so long ago D:) but in my independent readings of his work, I always had a strange fondness for "Never Bet the Devil Your Head." I'll have to dust off my book of his collected works though, since I haven't read him in a really long time. (And I'm definitely picking up some of those stamps! XD)

Btw, it's Allan. :)

Thanks for the heads up about the stamp! (I'm a bit of a philately fiend.) Anyhow, I took an Edgar Allen Poe class back in college. Great stuff. Of course I love The Raven and almost everything else he's written. The fact that he pretty much invented the detective story makes me like him even more.

Of course, there is the fact that he was kind of a creepy guy in real life, but then again... who isn't, right?

One must assume that in order to write such stories, Poe surely had a bit of the icky and the creepy in him. :) Such great stories, though!

I love, love, love Black Cat and my favorite poem is "Alone".
We studied him in Junior High School, even saw A Tell Tale Heart performed downtown on a field trip. His work is really good, I wish I read it more often. I currently own two collections of his work though, which makes me quite happy.

Classy stamp. I love EAP. One of my favorite poets. My favorite poem by far is Annabel Lee. We did study him briefly in high school, but I was already reading him in sixth grade. Hahah. I was reading him before the goths in my year knew who he was. :P

I love him. My favorite story is "The Black Cat" and favorite poem is "The Raven." I don't think I studied him in high school (although read up on him on my own), but did in college.
