News: New game in Europe brings books to the Nintendo DS

Nov 30, 2008 17:30

Video game fans, Nintendo is now bringing the world of literature to its DS system.  A new video game releasing the day after Christmas in Europe will contain the text of 100 classic novels, from Austen to Wilde.  So for those of us who can't afford a Kindle, this is a relatively inexpensive alternative.

It's pretty easy to use; just hold the DS on its side, like a book, and use the styllus to change the "page."  The size of the text is adjustable, and as you read the game will bookmark and save your place so you can return to your page at a later time.  The game will also include information about the authors and new books will be downloadable through Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection.

The game is launching in Europe December 26th, 2008.  At this time it has not been announced whether the game will be expanded to the US market.
