Amazing haul of books from Freecycle!
Over the weekend, I spotted an ad on Freecycle for a "box of art books". I assumed it would be a collection of old, out of date art history books - but hey, I like those! I e-mailed the owner and said that if it was still available, I'd love the books. We arranged for me to pick them up late Saturday night.
Well, I showed up and, to put it bluntly, the haul was amazing! It was not one box of books, but three. I didn't get a chance to look at them 'til I got home, but all I can say is WOW. It's a good collection of books, and we're talking at least $1000 worth of books when these were new. If I were to sell them all, I estimate that I could probably get between $300-$400, easily.
But I don't want to sell most of them. A lot of the books are art instruction, and one of my big goals after I graduate is to get back into the habit of regular art-making. So these books are perfect. There's also a large collection of fantasy art, which I think is very cool, too.
