Did you get anything cool in your Christmas stocking?

My family knows what I like to find under the Christmas tree, and this year I received a nice stack of books to keep me busy in the new year.  (Since I just finished up my last semester at San Jose State, I'll actually have a chance to read them, too!)

Here's what I received:
  • Down the Mysterly River - This may be a kid's book, but it was created by the team responsible for Fables so I'm really excited about it.
  • Super Brain Bafflers - This is one of those little dollar store-type books filled with trivia questions and puzzles.  It's silly, but fun.
  • Marmee & Louisa: The Untold Story of Louisa May Alcott and Her Mother - I didn't even know this book was published, but my brother knows how much I loved Little Women as a kid (I even played Jo in a sixth grade play) so I'm really excited to read it!
  • How to Read Egyptian Hieroglyphs - When I interned at the Egyptian Museum in San Jose earlier this year, this book was recommended to me.  Since the hieroglyphics talk was always my weakest lecture, I've wanted to improve my understanding of the Egyptian writing systems - and now that I'm out of school, I'll actually have the time to work on it.
  • Rogues' Gallery - The shady, shenanigan-filled history of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City should be delightful.
  • The Annotated Wizard of Oz - My favorite book from childhood, now with copious notes and addendums.
  • Dinotopia: The World Beneath - Because dinosaurs and steampunk - what's not to love???

What about you?  Did you get any books this year that you're looking forward to reading?
