There is a Herpes commercial on my television.

I really like the song I posted on my last entry. (Close your eyes, I'm turning on the light). It's very telling to my constant state of mind.
So today was absolutely okay. Mediocre in that wonderful way my life is. I had off final period today, but instead of driving home like I normally would, I sat there and watched people I barely knew. It was that group, you know, the people who're smart, who go to good schools, who aren't "popular", but who have this large group of friends? You know them, I know you do. The ones in the computer lab with me were Jack, Matt, Andre, the one who always has to show off how smart he is in English, Eric, Robby, Max and Callie. You now know the group I was talking about. They were missing a few people, like Sumter (that's his last name) and Charles, but you know the group I'm talking about. Equally comfortable with jello shots and beach parties and modding xBoxs and hanging out at the library.

Callie is the one who interests me, though. I wonder if she ever gets sad because her best friends are all male. It's interesting to watch her with them, though. She's pretty (I think she's really pretty, she's got chestnut hair and really dark eyes and olive skin.) but you can tell she doesn't think so. Her full name is Callie Yilmaz. She's half Turkish, half Turkish Greek, I think, and I know Callie stands for something, I want to say Calliope because she's Greek, but I don't think that's it. I wonder what she does when she wants to do girl things like shop for bras. And they all love her, though. That's what I noticed. They all tease her, and pretend not to listen to her, but they do. I bet you anything their girlfriends hate her, because no matter how much they're accepted into that group, they will never be as into the group as Callie is.
But the funny thing is, she's obviously closest with two of them, and that's Jack and Max. She obviously likes being with the others, but it's Jack and Max that she obviously cares about the most. Jack is an extrovert--he'll talk to anyone--but Max is just the opposite. I've never met anyone so painfully shy. Yet, it's obvious that he and Callie are really close--I watch them whispering in English class all the time. Callie and Max are in my physics class and my English class. In English, it's them and Andre, but Andre doesn't sit next to them in the circle and Andre and Callie argue like you wouldn't believe. Max and Callie always sit next to each other and it's so nice, they build on each other's sentences and everything, even the teacher always has this indulgent look on his face when they do that, because it's just heartwarming--Max has issues speaking in front of people so sometimes Callie will read what he wants to say. It just makes me feel nice and good inside.

So now that I'm done talking about Callie Yilmaz, I'm going to go sleep.
