I have such great friends. This sounds cliched, but words cannot express my happiness and gratitude when I read everyone's kinds words and support, except -- Thank you. *hugs* ♥
I also woke up to a message from Nakaoji-san that he has finally received my postcards! His first line: "Hi Farah, I hereby report that I have received your mails today at Yokosuka" made me giggle. Too cute! He said that my mail had cheered him up too :D
I think I will start writing letters again, I've been meaning to, anyhow. I've still got lots of cute stationery I can use. :D It might be good for me too, I think. And I've got addresses of most of you lot too, heh.
Oh, just checked the postbox and got a notification that someone sent me a small packet! Wonder what this is? :DDD But when can I go pick it up? Must sweet talk Mum/Dad. D:
I finished The Satanic Verses the other day. It's really good. I like it. I recommend it. It's the first time I've read something of the 'magical realism' genre. (It would have been Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude, but I skipped the lecture and tutorial back in uni so didn't read the book to avoid spoilers XD;) The parts that were supposedly offensive to Muslims were really blown out of context. The Satanic Verses isn't about that. It's about alienation, migration, fitting in, nostalgia... all sorts of things. To focus on the parts depicting the Prophet isn't really reading the novel. People who think that this novel is potentially dangerous are those who have not read it. It's a difficult book to read, and it's intense and let's face it, it's a quarter of a million words, you gotta kinda hafta like it to finish it.

GLAY's Missing You PV. This PV always reminds me of this fanfic I read a few years back, when the GLAY members were devastated that they didn't win an award for this video. XDDD I can't remember who wrote it nor the title, but it still cracks me up when I think about it. XD Missing You is such a beautiful, beautiful song though. ♥ ♥
