Background:
Wiki

Cassie was born into a normal family, and she grew up living a normal life. The only thing that was a little unusual was that her mother was a Watcher, and was able to see the future by having visions. This gift was passed down to Cassie, and it was because of their foresight that the Holmes family was torn apart. Cassie's mother was the most powerful Watcher the world had ever seen, and because of this, the government felt that she was a threat. So the government group known as Division came into Cassie's home in the middle of the night and tore her mother way, and without her father in the picture to help protect her, Cassie ran and hid so Divison wouldn't come after her next. Although no actual time estimate of when this happened was given in the film, I put this at happening around the time Cassie is eleven years old. She starts having visions of her own around this time, when she starts going through puberty. She's alone, and scared, and desperately confused. It's this time period in her life that changes who she is, and turns her into the bitter and cynical young woman she is seen as in the film.

For two years, she has to learn how to deal with her visions on her own, and she also has to travel across the world in order to stay hidden and find people who might possibly help her save her mother from the Division building she's being held in.

Changes from canon, if AU:
Oh boy are there plenty. I'm going to attempt to Cliffs Notes this so it's not overwhelming and insane. Cassie is being brought in from Brave New World verse, in which she has been entirely AU'd to fit into the same time period as Heroes and Supernatural. Her ability still exists and her father was killed and her mother was taken by Division, but instead of the events in the film, she's been taken in by Dean Winchester and she views him as being a father figure. She's close to the archangel Gabriel, despite constantly being pissed off at him, and her mother has been killed so she's recently gone through a pretty rough patch in life. She drinks and curses and doesn't really give a shit who she bothers, just as long as she can project the fact that she's angry at the world and she hates her life. She's also having to hide out because of her ability, since people with them aren't widely accepted and public as they are in the Push canon.

She's recently turned fourteen and is trying desperately to find her place in the world, so she's pretty much a lost puppy that latches onto anyone with personality problems like her. She still loves snarking at people, and she still loves drawing (and she most definitely still has no art skills at all).

Here's a...briefish timeline of her events:

- Has a vision about Sam and Dean, and eventually tracks them down and snarks at their life. She invites herself along on the road with them, because if she's having visions about them, they must be important.
- She quickly learns about their hunting business and is pretty impressed by it, but still snarks at Dean and makes fun of Sam's hair.
- She meets the archangel Gabriel and the two snark at each other and hit it off, and she goes to stay with him for a bit. But then he gets killed in Hammer of the Gods, and her life is a sad place. Until he comes back a bit later, then she's just pissy he left.
- She goes back to traveling with Sam and Dean, and tries to help them find the rings they need to stop the Apocalypse. She starts getting close to Dean during this time, since he's an older and male version of herself.
- Cassie goes back and forth between staying with Gabriel and traveling around with the Winchesters, and eventually has a vision about her mother.
- Gabriel takes her to the facility her mother is being held in, where her mother is killed by a gun she was forced to pull the trigger on.
- This breaks Cassie's life, and Gabriel can't handle her teenage girl emotions so he dumps her off on Dean.
- Dean has to go stop Sam from saying yes to Lucifer, so he dumps her off on someone else, which breaks Cassie further.
- Sam ends up dying and Dean comes back, much to Cassie's relief. After losing her mother and Gabriel, Cassie becomes obsessed with keeping Dean in her life and clings to him forever.
- Dean and his girlfriend Brooke attempt to "raise" Cassie, but she's a teenage alcoholic with severe depression so that turns out to be pretty rocky.
- Dean breaks through to her after months of her drinking, and Cassie runs away during the holidays. But Dean goes to get her, and she feels loved because of it, so she starts to ... not be a total shit anymore.
- She turns 14 somewhere in the middle of all of this.
- And that's about it.

Personality:
Cassie's not exactly a nice kid. She skips over the sugar, and is made entirely of spice, and you can just forget about the everything nice. She's bitter, she's cynical, and she's highly sarcastic. She doesn't trust adults easily, and she isn't necessarily out to make friends. Her driving force is finding and saving her mother, and she will do anything in order to do so. She has no problem using others, and she definitely uses her cute and innocent looks to her advantage in order to get adults (mostly males- they tend to be stronger and more easy to manipulate than females) to help her. She is very intelligent and street smart for a thirteen year old girl, just because she's spent a while living on the streets and running from a government group known as Division. Her power (visions) manifested at a young age, and she's having to learn how to deal with it all on her own, so this also gives her a more realistic view of the world. She isn't an optimist, and she isn't going to be a cute and cuddly sidekick. She is highly manipulative and focused on what she wants, and she's going to find people who can help her get back her mother.

That being said, Cassie is still a thirteen year old girl, going through puberty all by her lonesome. She has hormones and that leads to emotional issues, such as crying (although she tries her best to never cry in front of anyone ever), and a lot of backsass. She's reckless, even though she does take the time to make plans, she just sees her way as always being right and doesn't listen to advice or input from others. She relies heavily upon her visions and thinks that what she sees is set in stone, and still doesn't see the big picture to realize that her visions are just a tiny part of what's going on in the world around her. Her problems should be everyone else's problems, in her opinion, and she doesn't like it when people try to take the focus off of her mother. She truly does think she's always right, and she doesn't listen to others unless she respects them. And given Cassie's generally caustic viewpoint of humanity, trust and respect doesn't come easily to her. She's willing to help others, but she generally only does it in order to receive some kind of assistance in order to locate her mother.

As rough and jaded as Cassie is, she's also very broken and fragile on the inside. She is young and has seen and experienced a lot of terrible things. She was present when her father died, and she saw her mother being taken away by Divison. She has visions of the condition her mother is being kept in, and she's seen her own death and the death of countless others more time than she cares to admit. She's honestly scared of what's going to end up happening to both herself and her mother, and is too proud to own up to her fear. She lost a lot of her childhood and the loss of her innocence has had some drastic effects on her personality. She drinks vodka (mostly to help with her ability), she swears, and she carries around a gun in order to protect herself. She knows the world is a scary place and she's experienced it at its worst, but there's still a small part of her that wants to believe it can be good and that there's hope out there. Because more than anything, Cassie's desperately clinging onto any little fragments of hope she can get her hands on.

And despite her negative qualities, she is a decent person at heart. She's fought to save others, and she wants to do what's right, she just knows that sometimes good people have to do bad things in order to save people. She's a darker kind of hero because of the fact she's rough around the edges, but she does what's right in the end because she knows that it needs to be done. And if the dumbass adults in the world aren't going to do it, she will, because she's more than capable of doing it herself. She's a good person, but has a lot of faults that she's not exactly ready to own up to, and through it all she's a determined and resilient heroine that doesn't get the credit she deserves.

Abilities: Visions. Cassie can see the future, and sometimes what is going on in the present. The catch is with seeing the future, she sees people's intentions. If someone is thinking about one thing and changes their mind about it, then Cassie's visions will change and cause a great deal of confusion and disorientation for her. So while it could potentially be a useful power, she's often too confused and unsure of herself to actually put it to good use.
